The opportunity
With the continuing and rapid development of tax technology solutions and in particular Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, it is necessary to enhance our operational models to achieve success in the future. In preparation for the future, EY Tax and Law have created a new “Centre of Excellence” (CoE) to support SaaS solutions throughout their lifecycle.
The objectives of the SaaS CoE are twofold:
- Operational management of Tax and Law SaaS solutions
- Sales enablement and support to drive the market success of these solutions
The SaaS CoE currently supports Tax and Lax solutions Global VAT Reporting Tool (GVRT), Global Tax E-invoicing Solution (GTES), Mandatory Disclosure Regime (MDR) Web, EY GloBE Engine (Pillar II/BEPS) and Digital Tax Platform (DTP), and this number of solutions is expected to grow rapidly.
In joining the SaaS CoE, you will have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of this new business unit, becoming deeply embedded in the operational management of the SaaS CoE and thus ensuring the smooth running of the technology solutions that it supports.
Your key responsibilities
EY is looking for a Product Lead to help develop and manage its ground-breaking product GTES, which looks to reimagine how our clients can manage their global e-invoicing and e-reporting obligations in this dynamic and rapidly growing area. As part of our new Global SaaS business, you will work with our Product Owner to develop GTES from proof-of-concept to production. You will have broad experience across the product lifecycle and be excited by the opportunity to join a growth business within an established firm.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective execution of the product strategy, prioritize the product backlog, and ensure successful delivery of the product. The ideal candidate should understand product management within the tax technology landscape, as well as Agile development methodology.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Stakeholder management, governance & collaboration
- Serve as a passionate product advocate, effectively communicating the value and benefits of GTES to stakeholders, clients, and internal teams, while gathering feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders on product and management matters, ensuring alignment with business objectives and facilitating informed decision-making
- Act as the primary point of contact for product-related inquiries and issues
- Prepare and present product updates and performance metrics to senior management and other stakeholders
- Engage local countries with high-level stakeholder management on GTES requirements, communications and escalations
- Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams, including product, go-to-market, delivery, and engineering, to ensure to ensure successful product delivery and implementation
- Oversee global product governance by contributing to steering decks and driving actions against a plan
- Product planning, execution & delivery
- Work with the Product Owner to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the product
- Research current and emerging technologies, market trends and competitor capabilities
- Monitor product performance and user feedback to inform future enhancements
- Drive product plan execution, working closely with the Product Owner, Product Specialist, engineering, product and other teams
- Develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with business goals and customer needs
- Lead the product development lifecycle, from ideation through to launch and post-launch evaluation
- Maximize value delivered by the engineering team by ensuring effective and timely delivery
- Oversee the Technical, Functional, Product and Program Management specialists for GTES
- Collaborate with the Scrum Master and Business Analysts to plan sprints, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Oversee high-level requirements gathering by the Functional Lead, ensuring the accurate maintenance of a product backlog, prioritizing features based on business alignment and customer feedback
- Oversee high-level requirements gathering by the Technical Lead to define and deliver the technical requirements, for product deployment and support
- Oversee compilation of product documentation in collaboration with the Product Specialist, as well as the Functional and Technical Leads, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for all stakeholders
Skills and attributes for success
- We are looking for people with excellent communication abilities with relevant experience in a commercial position.
- Confidence and maturity to work effectively with senior leaders across the Business Unit and beyond
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as executive presence
- Skilled at explaining technical information in a manner which is understood by non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of the software development cycle and project management methodologies
- Proven relationship management abilities to work effectively with clients, project teams and vendors across multiple geographies
- Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
- Strong decision-making ability, balancing what is right with what is realistic
- Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people from various parts of the Business and IT
- Possess a high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and an ability to work well under pressure
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 8-10+ years’ experience in a commercial role within a large global organization ideally within the tax or technology market
- Certifications in Product Management, Portfolio Management and Project Management would be beneficial to performing this role
- In-depth knowledge of Agile development methodology
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Familiarity the e-invoicing landscape and related technologies, would be an advantage
- Work experience in the professional services industry, would be an advantage
- Certifications in Microsoft technology stack, would be an advantage
