The opportunity


With the continuing and rapid development of tax technology solutions, particularly Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, it is necessary to enhance our operational models to achieve success in the future. In preparation for the future, EY Tax and Law have created a new “Centre of Excellence” (CoE) to support SaaS solutions throughout their lifecycle. 

 

The objectives of the SaaS CoE are twofold: 

  • Operational management of Tax and Law SaaS solutions and 
  • Sales enablement and support to drive the market success of these solutions. 

 

The SaaS CoE currently supports multiple Tax and Lax solutions including the Global VAT Reporting Tool (GVRT), Mandatory Disclosure Regime (MDR), Web Data Permissions Navigator (DPN) and the newly deployed Global Tax E-invoicing Solution (GTES), with this number of solutions is expected to grow rapidly.

Your key responsibilities


EY is looking for an Operations Manager who will oversee and coordinate all operational activities pertaining to the ground-breaking product, GTES, which looks to reimagine how our clients can manage their global e-invoicing and e-reporting obligations in this dynamic and rapidly growing area. As part of our new Global SaaS business, you will work with our Product Owner and product team to ensure the smooth operation and deployment of GTES around the world.

 

The Operations Manager for GTES will will ensure adherence to all processes and procedures, and that deadlines are met with a view to ensuring the successful operation and growth of the GTES solution. The ideal candidate should have excellent management and leadership skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

 

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support operations and ensure alignment with the overall product strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Working under the direction of the Product Owner, to drive and deliver all aspects of GTES operational management
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to develop and implement GTES specific operational policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with the organization's objectives and meet the needs of the solution
  • Drive engagement of local Member Firms with the e-invoicing project, including but not limited to: 
  • Acting as an advocate of the GTES solution across various forums as required 
  • Working in conjunction with local Member Firms on e-invoicing business cases to support investment decisions, and where necessary qualify the robustness of the same
  • Maintain GTES compliance with internal processes and controls such as Tax Quality, Independence, Tax Technology Approvals Roadmap etc.
  • Author and update assorted product documentation as required
  • Monitor assorted product specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as client numbers, pipeline, revenue etc
  • Manage business side deliverables to ensure deadlines and objectives are met
  • Produce regular reports on business side performance and/or metrics for reporting to key stakeholders and committees
  • Support with project management of operational and business tasks for the GTES product team
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in and outside of the SaaS CoE to develop and implement strategic plans and go-to-market materials for GTES
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the business to ensure smooth operations
     

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • We are looking for people with excellent communication abilities with relevant experience in a operations position.
  • Confidence and maturity to work effectively with senior leaders across the SaaS CoE and beyond 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proven relationship management abilities to work effectively with project teams
  • Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people from various parts of the Business and IT
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize effectively 
  • Possess a high energy level and an ability to work well under pressure
  • Experience working remotely across borders with multi-national, culturally diverse teams would be an advantage
     

To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • 5+ years of experience in an operational management role
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Familiarity with EY Tax’s internal processes (for example: the Tax Technology Approvals Roadmap) would be considered an advantage but is not essential

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Work experience in a professional services industry
  • Familiarity of EY internal processes would be an advantage
