We perform a number of global reserve reviews and reserve reviews for over 50% of the Lloyd’s market. Responsibilities, Qualifications, Certifications - External
Your key responsibilities
- Manage to completion the technical delivery and reporting for projects, providing insight to projects on technical matters;
- Develop and support people through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring;
- Lead discussions with client contacts and manage expectations of delivery, content, timescales and cost;
- Present to clients at senior executive and board levels;
- Play your part in the development of intellectual property to support sales-oriented client interaction;
- Assist in responding to client proposals; and
- Play a role in how the team operates and develops - such as feedback, counselling, finance, recruitment, learning and development.

To qualify for the role you must have
- Significant actuarial experience in the London Market or leading-edge UK retail insurance
- Have a strong academic record, including a degree and professional actuarial qualifications (IFoA or similar, qualified or nearly qualified)
- Have deep experience of at least two of the following:
- Reserve reviews under different accounting bases
- Reserving process improvement and development work
- Building and developing capital models or capital modelling techniques
- Technical review of various modelled risk types in capital modelling
- The business planning process, linking reserving, pricing, claims and underwriting
- Developing machine learning models
- Part VII or Section 166 roles
- A track record of managing actuarial projects and team members, delivering or managing multiple tasks in parallel.
- Be able to support, coach and mentor more junior members of the team to build the wider skill set of the team.
- Be commercially savvy and able to collaboratively engage in discussions on future market trends and what this may mean for our clients.
- Be a problem solver; tailoring what you have learnt from your experiences to date to different client problems to help design and implement the solution.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience in applying a variety of techniques to a range of data to solve problems.
- Experience in using visualisation packages to identify trends.
- Experience in using actuarial software packages for reserving or capital modelling.
