The opportunity
Our rapidly growing IT Internal Audit practice is looking for driven professionals with a strong background in Financial Services IT Internal Audit to shape the future of our profession. We work in a fast paced, growing team of technology and analytics professionals serving clients across the Financial Services sector.  Alongside traditional IT Internal Audit, we are seeing a rapid growth in clients wanting to both assure, and use, emerging technology including advanced analytics and generative AI. In this role you’ll be at the forefront of helping Internal Audit functions shape the way they work, helping them to be fit for the future. 

 

Your key responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will be to help lead the IT Internal Audit team in delivering across its portfolio of clients, managing the team of junior auditors and managers while supporting in setting and leading the team’s strategy for the future, helping us to win across the Financial Services market.  You will:

  1. Lead IT audit engagements, from the planning stage to execution and reporting, managing multiple engagements and facilitate collaboration between diverse teams
  2. Evaluate IT systems, data security, applications, and IT controls, identifying risks and recommending enhancements to strengthen internal control systems.
  3. Develop and maintain professional relationships with key organizational stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to Heads of IT Internal Audit, Heads of Internal Audit, and C-Suite executives at Board level, providing insights on IT control and risk management.
  4. Produce comprehensive reports highlighting audit findings and suggesting value-added solutions to identified issues.
  5. Lead the professional development of team members, guiding them through training, coaching, and performance feedback. 
  6. Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and changes in IT audit practices and regulations, educating both our clients and our internal teams.
  7. Lead in setting the IT Internal Audit team strategy, in turn leading the team’s go to market activity, including drafting proposals, thought leadership material, blogs and supporting in presenting hot topics to existing and prospective clients.

 

Skills and attributes for success
If successful, you will be expected to secure and enhance relationships with senior client management including Heads of IT Internal Audit, Heads of Internal Audit, and C-Suite executives at Board level. You will be expected to own and manage day to day client relationships whilst delivering value to the client by providing insightful knowledge into business and technology improvement. You will be seen as a trusted advisor to Directors and Partners within EY, leading the identification of new business opportunities and building upon existing client networks. You will be expected to lead and develop the Managers and auditors within the IT Internal Audit team, and be seen as a strong, people-centric, dynamic leader by them.

 

To qualify for the role you must have 

  • Significant experience working within an IT Internal Audit environment, either within professional services or industry.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, or CPA and knowledge of IT governance standards and frameworks, such as COBIT, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and NIST.
  • Experience in leading and developing successful teams, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and remaining with in budgets. 
  • A track record of success in business development with an ability to demonstrate how you have leveraged your network to win work.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience of leading cyber and cloud reviews.
  • A foundational level of knowledge, and experience in using, data analytics.
