The opportunity


We are looking for a high performing Payment’s practitioners (with specific payments knowledge / experience) with the ability to contribute to a high calibre team seeking to build the market leading professional services business in this sector. The first part of the Business Development role is focused on payments accounts. Account lead for Payment’s businesses within our Banking clients and Drive Payments specific campaigns in the UK. 

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Help build, grow and maintain our senior client relationships, and support service lines and firm to generate opportunities.
  • Lead our market pursuits and bids across the accounts and bring the best of EY to the client.
  • Network widely within the firm amongst those currently and potentially providing services specifically to the payments sector as well as the broader BCM sector.
  • Maintain and further develop the sector team's knowledge and knowledge management capability in relation to the payments sector's business drivers, issues, and personalities.
  • Help manage the operational aspects of the account to ensure robust governance, controls, and processes.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience of developing strong and trusted business relationships with clients.
  • Strong understanding of trends and developments in the Payments / broader BCM sector in the UK.
  • Ability to build effective, trusted working relationships with individuals, organisations and clients.
  • High degree of personal drive and motivation to succeed.
  • Able to network effectively within the BCM sector and within a large organisation to gain visibility, profile and engagement around focusing service offerings to this sector.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present effectively and incisively.
  • Strong team player/team management skills.
  • Strong programme and project management skills.
  • An understanding of the risk management issues surrounding providing audit and other advisory services.

 

To qualify for the role, you must be

 

Commercially astute / business aware:

  • Will make significant contributions to sales strategy and have well developed financial skills
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism
  • Will have credibility and business insight that can be demonstrated to partners

 

Excellent interpersonal, presentation and selling skills:

  • Excellent relationship builder and able to utilise relationships to uncover and develop opportunities
  • Will be very perceptive, able to read people and an ability to communicate a message effectively
  • Ability and experience in facilitating sales calls and coaching teams
  • Genuine account management capabilities

 

Ability to quickly understand complex products and broad service offerings:

  • Ability to sell solutions in many and varied business scenarios
  • Project management skills with an opportunistic mindset
  • Capability to comprehend EY's solutions across service lines and competencies and translate these to client value and benefits

 

Understanding of the sales process and risk management requirements:

  • Exposure to major pursuit process (e.g. Target Account Selling)
  • Familiar with budgeting and use of modelling tools for price planning
  • Understanding of key risk management processes and requirements 

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Professional services experience.
  • Come from a payments / BCM background.
