Your key responsibilities

You will provide ESG expertise to deliver ESG due diligence and value creation projects for our private equity and corporate clients. You will assist in new business origination and support the continuous development of our ESG services offering in Strategy and Transactions, working closely with our network of ESG and Sustainability specialists across EY.

  • Experience of leading complex projects
  • Strong team leadership skills, particularly teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, coupled with the ability to manage and develop junior team members
  • Experience leading consulting practice development initiatives and training programmes
  • Adept at building strong working relationships with clients
  • Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of delivering high-quality reports and presentations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional team player

 

 

To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • Deep understanding of ESG/Sustainability issues and relevant tools and frameworks
  • Strong analytical ability to link ESG and operational analysis to financial statements and to understand the implications for client strategy and asset valuation 

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

We are looking for individuals from varied backgrounds, but having many of the experiences below would be advantageous:

  • A good understanding of how investors and analysts review and use ESG information to inform decision making
  • Transaction experience – EHS and/or ESG due diligence and Responsible Investment
  • Exposure to corporate reporting and/or regulatory reporting on ESG issues
  • Experience in design and implementation of ESG-related initiatives and/or reporting either as an investor or in a corporate environment
  • Practical experience and deep understanding of one or more of the core elements of ESG, for instance:
    • Environmental compliance, assessment of environmental and ecological impacts of business operations
    • Health & safety management & compliance
    • Carbon footprint measurement, decarbonization planning, SBTi alignment
    • Climate risk assessment, mitigation and adaptation planning, TCFD reporting
    • Managing sustainability and human rights issues in supply chain
  • Professional services / consulting experience: from a management consultancy, corporate finance firm or as an 'internal consultant' in a corporate environment
  • Relevant academic and professional qualifications
