The Opportunity

 

We are creating an EY-Parthenon Portugal Business Hub, designed to support teams across the Europe West region in delivering high-quality Commercial Due Diligence (CDD) engagements and strategic market assessments.

 

As a Commercial Due Diligence Senior, you will play a key role in this strategic initiative, supporting transaction-related projects by assessing market dynamics, competitive positioning, customer trends, and growth opportunities. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across EY-Parthenon, including strategy consultants, sector specialists, and deal professionals, to deliver insights that support investment decisions and create value for clients.

 

Through rigorous analysis, hypothesis-driven problem solving, and exposure to a wide range of industries, you will contribute to providing private equity investors and corporate clients with actionable recommendations in high-stakes transaction environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

As a Senior at Portugal Business Hub you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the delivery of Commercial Due Diligence projects by conducting high-quality, insightful, and data-driven analyses to support investment decisions;
  • Managing key project workstreams and collaborating with engagement teams to deliver projects within tight transaction timelines and quality standards;
  • Conducting assessments of market attractiveness, competitive positioning, growth opportunities, customer dynamics, and key value drivers of target companies;
  • Synthesizing complex findings into clear and actionable insights for Private Equity investors and corporate clients involved in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and investment opportunities;
  • Supporting day-to-day client interactions and collaborating with EY-Parthenon professionals across multiple geographies;
  • Performing market research, competitive analysis, customer interviews, and industry assessments to develop robust commercial perspectives;
  • Preparing high-quality reports, presentations, and client deliverables suitable for executive-level audiences;
  • Contributing to proposal development, business development initiatives, capability presentations, and thought leadership efforts;
  • Collaborating effectively within diverse and international teams while promoting EY-Parthenon’s culture and values;
  • Coaching and supporting junior team members, contributing to their technical and professional development.

  • Previous international exposure or experience in cross-border projects is considered an advantage.

 

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Management, or a related field;
  • Approximately 3–5 years of professional experience in Commercial Due Diligence, Strategy Consulting, Transaction Advisory, Market Intelligence, Corporate Strategy, or related fields;
  • Experience conducting market assessments, competitive analyses, growth opportunity evaluations, customer research, and broader strategic analyses;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project workstreams and deliver high-quality outputs under demanding deadlines;
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities;
  • Full professional proficiency in Portuguese and English;
  • Availability to work in Portugal and collaborate with international teams across multiple geographies.
