The opportunity
We are looking for a Manager to join our Infrastructure Advisory team in our Lisbon office. EY’s Infrastructure Advisory practice is a leading advisor to public and private sector clients on commercial, economic, regulatory, policy, financial and transaction advisory services. EY advises and assists its clients to carry out their transaction plans (buy-side or sell side transactions), as well as their fund-raising activities. Our EY Infrastructure Advisory group has an established track record of advising both public and private sectors on infrastructure projects worldwide. Our core team has a broad and deep understanding of infrastructure demonstrated by our strong credentials covering a range of industry sectors (transports, power, water and environment, and social infrastructure such as hospitals and universities).
Your key responsibilities
- Provide strategic, economic, financial, commercial, regulatory and policy advice to inform our clients’ decision making;
- Develop and/or analyze financial model using various valuation approaches and methods to support clients' various purposes including, but not - limited to, feasibility study, financial projection review, business plan development, project transaction and structuring, joint ventures economics, and project finance transactions;
- Participate in engagements, project teams and high quality client deliverables;
- Support the development of junior staff including by playing a strong role in mentoring and providing pragmatic feedback, both constructive and supportive;
- Take the responsibility for own learning and development, provide coaching to others, and participate in upward feedback;
- Understand the key business drivers, co-developing our approach with the client, agreeing value measurements with the client, providing value to the client through insights, factual conclusions and advice;
- Collaborate with people across Strategy and Transactions, as well as the broader EY team to support service delivery outcomes and cross-teaming;
- Be proactive and present – positively contribute to culture, participate in learning and training opportunities and foster inclusive teaming.
Skills and attributes for success
- Excellent interpersonal and business skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in internal and external forums;
- Ability to work in multiple projects and effectively prioritize competing demands;
- A proactive, supportive and respectful approach to their team, and able to function under pressure but also demonstrate judgment in asking for help when required;
- Advanced report writing, analysis and problem solving;
- Fluency in business English and Portuguese is mandatory both verbal and written;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Degree in Finance, Business or Economics from a reputable university;
- 5 to 7 years of related working experience, including in Public Sector, State-Owned Enterprise, Management Consulting, Big-4 firms, Financial Institution, and/or Investment House;
- Knowledge and relationships in one or more of the following sectors: Transport, Power and Utilities, Water and Environment, Social Infrastructure;
- A strong interest in infrastructure;
- Experience in the development of projects and support to transactions (M&A) of transports, energy and utilities, social infrastructure, Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and/or Project Finance;
- Project finance including financial modelling development and analysis is mandatory.
