The opportunity
Within the professional services environment, appropriate risk management is fundamental to the successful delivery of our client services and promotion and protection of our brand. Within EY, the Risk Management group (which covers audit independence/ethics, conflicts, anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, data protection, enterprise and business risk, and other risk and regulatory areas), is responsible for the promotion, protection and support of risk management within the business. The group aims to uphold our business standards, maintain and enhance the value of the brand, and ensure that the firm complies with the external/internal rules and regulations imposed on the firm in relation to the conduct of its business.

Independence is a concept fundamental to the audit profession and is pervasive in all dealings between EY and its clients. Independence means that EY and its professionals should be free from interests that might be incompatible with objectivity, integrity, and impartiality, both in fact and in appearance.

EY is looking for a full-time Manager to join the Risk Management & Independence Team, with flexible work arrangements to work remotely. The Risk Management & Independence team supports our people in managing the risks that arise during our daily working lives. We work closely with the international risk management ecosystem teams and all parts of the organization to identify, manage, and monitor risk, providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, compliance, regulatory, policy, security issues, as well as dealing with claims and any queries regarding ethics.

Your key responsibilities
•Assist and provide guidance to client-serving teams in the completion of client acceptance and independence procedures, including providing support to the business and answering queries relating to the permissibility of proposed non audit services to audit clients.
• Support with technical analyses: pre-analysis of fact patterns, obtaining necessary clarifications and additional information from the team, when needed, and drafting preliminary conclusions for second level review & approval.
•Provision of training and coaching to new hires and recent promotees and facilitate risk management and independence training courses and presentations.
•Participate in independence monitoring programs and other process improvement initiatives;
•Perform analyses for identification of risks and inconsistencies of information within different tools used to monitor aspects of risk and support teams with resolution of such findings.
•Design and execute testing procedures for testing compliance with internal policies and procedures.
•Documentation of findings, including performing root-cause analyses and proposal of recommendations.
•Providing general, ad hoc project and other support to other senior members of the RM&I team.

Skills and attributes for success
•A team player and customer service mindset happy to help others with various queries and requests.
•Proactive, driven, and able to work autonomously in a busy and dynamic environment.
•Project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
•Detail-oriented and ability to think out of the box and create multidisciplinary solutions.
•Effective communicator.
•Strong English skills.

To qualify for the role, you must have
•Academic bachelor or Master, mainly in business management or financial fields of study.
•At least 4-7 years of professional experience related with Compliance, Regulatory or Risk Management & Independence and External and Internal Audit areas.
•Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
