The Opportunity

 

We are creating an EY-Parthenon Portugal Business Hub, designed to support teams across the Europe West region in delivering high-quality Commercial Due Diligence (CDD) engagements and strategic market assessments.

 

As a Commercial Due Diligence Manager, you will play a key role in this strategic initiative, supporting transaction-related projects by assessing market dynamics, competitive positioning, customer trends, and growth opportunities. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across EY-Parthenon, including strategy consultants, sector specialists, and deal professionals, to deliver insights that support investment decisions and create value for clients.

 

Through rigorous analysis, hypothesis-driven problem solving, and exposure to a wide range of industries, you will contribute to providing private equity investors and corporate clients with actionable recommendations in high-stakes transaction environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

As a Manager at Portugal Business Hub you will be responsible for:

  • Lead Commercial Due Diligence projects and engagement teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, insightful, and data-driven analyses to support strategic investment decisions;
  • Manage day-to-day client interactions, maintaining strong relationships with Private Equity investors, corporate clients, and internal EY-Parthenon stakeholders globally;
  • Oversee the assessment of market attractiveness, competitive positioning, growth opportunities, customer dynamics, and key value drivers of target companies;
  • Lead complex analyses and synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations for clients involved in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and investment opportunities;
  • Drive project delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring adherence to tight transaction timelines and maintaining the highest quality standards;
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, capability presentations, client pitches, and thought leadership initiatives related to Commercial Due Diligence and Strategy Transactions;
  • Effectively manage diverse and international teams, fostering collaboration, inclusion, professional development, and EY-Parthenon culture and values;
  • Mentor and coach junior professionals, supporting their technical, analytical, and professional growth;
  • Collaborate with global EY-Parthenon teams to continuously enhance methodologies, tools, and best practices related to Commercial Due Diligence;
  • Support recruitment and talent development efforts to help build and scale a high-performing Commercial Due Diligence team within the Portugal Business Hub.

  • Previous international exposure or experience working on cross-border projects is highly valued;
  • Ability to contribute to commercial and business development initiatives.

 

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Management, or a related field;
  • 5–8 years of professional experience, ideally including experience in Commercial Due Diligence, Strategy Consulting, Transaction Advisory, Market Intelligence, or related fields;
  • Proven project management skills, including managing workstreams, coordinating teams, interacting with senior stakeholders, and delivering high-quality outputs under tight timelines;
  • Experience conducting market assessments, competitive analyses, growth opportunity evaluations, customer research, or broader strategic analyses;
  • Strong commercial mindset and ability to identify new business opportunities and contribute to client development activities;
  • Full professional proficiency in Portuguese and English;
  • Availability to work in Portugal and collaborate with international teams across multiple geographies.
