EY is looking for a Manager to join our Financial Services - Technology Consulting team. You'll have the opportunity to work across disciplines with professionals who have broad industry sector experience and deep subject-matter knowledge. 
Our Engineering team is growing rapidly, and we want to ensure it grows and develops in the best way. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join us and lead one of our teams of engineers with high standards of quality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management responsibility for the software project life cycle;
  • Identification and initiation of continuous improvement opportunities;
  • Motivation of the team to achieve individual and team objectives;
  • Interaction with senior management and business stakeholders;
  • Building customer confidence by understanding their needs and delivering first class solutions;
  • Issues and Risks identification, mitigation and resolution;
  • Regular reporting both internally and to the client;
  • Production and maintenance of Project Plan and Budgets;
  • Developing and mentoring junior members of staff;
  • Keeping up to date with emerging industry practices;
  • Management of the commercials for a project;
  • Resource planning.


Skills And Attributes For Success:

  • Project Management experience, ideally within software engineering or consulting environment;
  • Ability to define, manage and deliver to customer expectations within strict deadlines;
  • Full knowledge of the project lifecycle and experience of various project development methodologies (including Agile, Incremental and Waterfall);
  • Comfortable with complex technical environments and legacy systems integration;
  • Experience of managing multiple projects;
  • Experience of managing people and financial budgets (including project budgeting, monitoring financials, reporting etc.);
  • Experience of managing 3rd parties;
  • Strong time management & organizational skills;
  • Excellent negotiation skills and an ability to handle sensitive issues.


To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Academic background in Software Engineering or other related fields;
  • Engineer mentality: passion about solving highly complex challenges in a detail-oriented way;
  • Significant experience in delivering complex software projects in software;
  • Solution-oriented with a “get it done” attitude that finds motivation in fast-paced environments;
  • People-driven and a team player profile that engages and motivates people around you;
  • Ability to work in multicultural projects and environments;
  • Excellent analytical, research and communication skills;
  • Full English Proficiency is mandatory.


Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience in leading an engineering team and technical projects;
  • A proven track record of end-to-end delivery and systems architecture with extensive knowledge and experience of software architecture best practices, common challenges and microservices.
