About the Role

RACE (Regional Audit Centre of Excellence) is a strategic growth initiative within EY Assurance, bringing together high-performing audit professionals in Limerick to support a broad portfolio of Irish and UKI audit engagements. The team combines audit excellence, technology-enabled delivery and development opportunities to provide high-quality execution across a diverse range of industries.

Your key responsibilities

As an Assistant Manager or Manager within RACE, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit work across a portfolio of engagements while supporting the continued growth and development of the centre.

  • Lead and coordinate audit workstreams across multiple engagements, ensuring delivery of high-quality outputs on time and in line with EY Audit methodology.
  • Manage, coach and develop teams of auditors, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for engagement teams across Ireland and the UKI region.
  • Drive consistent execution of audit procedures through the effective use of EY technologies, data analytics and digital audit tools.
  • Review audit documentation and support the resolution of complex technical and judgmental audit matters.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance audit quality, efficiency and consistency across engagements.
  • Support the ongoing growth of RACE by contributing to recruitment, onboarding, training and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with engagement leaders and contribute to a positive and high-performing team culture.

As a Manager

  • ACA/CA/ACCA (ICAEW, ICAS, Irish Institute or equivalent international qualification) -preferably first time passes.
  • Proven experience leading multiple audit engagements and managing teams across a portfolio of clients.
  • Experience reviewing work performed by distributed or offshore delivery teams would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience applying UK GAAP and IFRS.

 

As an Assistant Manager

  • ACA/CA/ACCA (ICAEW, ICAS, Irish Institute or equivalent international qualification) -preferably first time passes.
  • Experience supervising audit teams and reviewing work completed by junior staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple engagements and service delivery teams.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience applying UK GAAP and IFRS.
