The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to broaden their exposure across multiple facets of HR operations. Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting EY Lahore office and in delivering consistent, high-quality support throughout the employee lifecycle.
You will work closely with Assurance Service Line Talent teams, acting as a trusted point of contact on HR operational matters. The role combines independent case management, stakeholder advisory, data-driven insights, process improvement and responsible use of technology to strengthen employee experience, operational efficiency, quality and compliance.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead and manage employee lifecycle activities across Assurance Service Line and locations, including probation reviews, performance management cases, employee movements and separations, ensuring alignment with EY policies and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for counselors, managers, Talent teams and business stakeholders, providing practical guidance on employee relations matters, performance concerns, disciplinary actions and grievance management.
- Independently assess sensitive or complex HR operational matters, identify technical or policy issues, evaluate relevant input, resolve matters within remit and elevate appropriately where required.
- Oversee the execution of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), employee exits and other critical HR processes, ensuring clear ownership, appropriate documentation, timely follow-through and a consistent employee experience.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business priorities, critical outcomes, barriers to success and changes in requirements, translating these into practical and timely HR solutions.
- Maintain awareness of developments in HR operations, employment practices and the broader Talent landscape, sharing relevant updates and implications with stakeholders and colleagues.
- Analyze and clearly present HR data, workforce trends and operational information to identify key issues, generate insights and support informed discussions and decision-making.
- Promote operational excellence by reviewing current practices, identifying risks or inefficiencies and proposing credible solutions that enhance quality, consistency, cost effectiveness and resource optimization.
- Manage HR projects and cross-functional initiatives by clarifying objectives, roles, priorities, timelines and scope changes, and by keeping relevant stakeholders informed through to resolution.
- Use approved AI tools and methods independently to improve drafting, analysis, reporting and recurring workflows, while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, appropriate human review and responsible use standards.
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, clarity, relevance, usefulness, potential bias and risk, and begin advising colleagues on appropriate and responsible AI-enabled ways of working.
- Support local HR operations, including employee documentation, regulatory or external authority coordination, audits and ad hoc office requirements.
- Coach and support junior colleagues by sharing knowledge, clarifying methodologies and protocols, providing constructive feedback and helping resolve work challenges.
- Actively support change initiatives by communicating their benefits, identifying implementation barriers and promoting practical approaches that enable adoption.
- Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative and globally connected team environment, adapting your approach to different stakeholder needs and working styles.
Skills and attributes for success
- Solid conceptual and practical knowledge of HR operations, employee lifecycle management, employee relations, performance management and HR governance.
- Ability to identify technical or policy issues, determine appropriate solutions and escalate matters with sound judgement when required.
- Demonstrated experience managing sensitive and complex employee matters with discretion, objectivity and professionalism.
- Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills, with the maturity to build credibility and maintain effective relationships across organizational levels.
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and evaluate input from appropriate sources before forming conclusions.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities, including advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Experience managing projects or initiatives across multiple stakeholders, priorities and locations.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to challenge current practices constructively and generate practical ideas that improve efficiency and service quality.
- Ability to use approved AI tools responsibly and independently, review outputs critically and help colleagues adopt effective AI-enabled practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and influencing skills.
- Ability to produce work that is timely, accurate, complete and clear while maintaining effective risk management and compliance.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related discipline.
- Approximately 4-6 years of progressive experience in HR operations, employee relations, HR shared services or a related Talent function within a professional services firm, multinational or complex organization.
- Practical experience supporting employee lifecycle and performance management processes, including sensitive employee relations matters.
- Experience working with HR systems, reporting tools and Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills.
Ideally, you'll also have
- Exposure to MENA, regional or multi-country HR operations.
- Experience supporting Assurance or another professional services Service Line.
- Experience delivering process improvement, automation or technology-enabled HR initiatives.
- Familiarity with responsible AI practices and approved enterprise AI tools.
- Experience guiding or coaching junior colleagues.
