Our Strategy and Transaction (SAT) team works with clients to manage their capital agenda to drive competitive advantage and increased returns. As part of a global team of 10,000 professionals in 100 countries you will advise clients on preserving, optimizing, raising or investing capital. Major groups (or, as we call them, sub-service lines and competencies) within SAT include Mergers and Acquisition Services, Project Finance, Restructuring Services, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Support, Transaction Tax, and Valuation and Business Modelling.

  

Our core work is due diligence, assessing a target company’s finances and business projections, 

identifying opportunities, risks, sensitivities and potential mitigations, and reporting on these to our clients, their banks, investors and other parties. 

 

The opportunity 

You will be working in teams with experienced due diligence professionals, where you will learn and develop the skills you need to perform due diligence in a range of situations and sectors.  There is the opportunity for and likelihood of travel within ASEAN. When working on projects you will almost always be working as part of a wider cross service line team.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager within the Transaction Diligence team, you will:

  • Lead due diligence engagements related to transactions involving private equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers
  • Manage project teams and coordinate/collaborate closely with other EY departments
  • Understand the key business drivers of different companies and gather, analyze and discuss relevant financial and non-financial data. Identify critical findings, derive insightful advice and communicate concise findings to our clients.
  • Be ready to lead or contribute to all stages of the project – scoping engagements, requesting the right information, crunching data, structuring or writing reports, reviewing deliverables, drafting SPA sections, communicating with clients and presenting findings.
  • Support go-to-market activities by being an active, trusted advisor, being open to using analytics on projects, and by leveraging the broad range of services we offer in our firm to sell additional services to our clients.
  • Help to further establish our standing as a market-leading due diligence practice by coaching and mentoring junior team members, by generating and sharing best practices and transaction insights and by working on various internal initiatives that drive quality and efficiency.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of diverse Transaction Diligence experience working on buy-side and sell-side engagements, OR professional audit experience with due diligence exposure 
  • Leadership skills especially in areas of Project Management and People Management
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas in a collaborative team environment

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Transactions/auditing experience   
  • Client facing experience from a professional services background  
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel to develop financial models
