The opportunity

The EY AI & Data team within Financial Services helps clients unlock greater value from their data, analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities.

We work with clients to solve complex business challenges by developing data-driven strategies and delivering solutions across AI, Generative AI, advanced analytics, data engineering, business intelligence and data transformation.

Our consultants combine strong technical capabilities with business and consulting skills, working closely with client stakeholders to translate business needs into practical, scalable solutions. You will have the opportunity to contribute to transformation initiatives across the Financial Services sector while working with multidisciplinary teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an AI & Data Consultant, you will work closely with clients and project teams to design, develop and deliver AI, data and analytics solutions.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Work directly with clients to understand business challenges, identify AI and data opportunities, and translate requirements into appropriate solutions.

• Support the design and implementation of AI, Generative AI, analytics and data transformation solutions.

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines, data models and API integrations supporting analytics and AI use cases.

• Perform data analysis and develop actionable insights to support business decision-making.

• Support the development of AI-enabled solutions, including machine learning, Generative AI, LLM-enabled applications and intelligent automation, depending on project requirements.

• Develop dashboards and data visualisation solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau or QlikView.

• Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources and support improvements in data quality, accessibility and governance.

• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, AI specialists, business analysts, developers and client stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support end-to-end delivery using Agile, SDLC or hybrid delivery methodologies.

• Prepare client presentations, documentation, recommendations and solution requirements.

• Participate in client workshops and communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills and attributes for success

We are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

• AI, Machine Learning or Generative AI

• Data Analytics and Advanced Analytics

• Data Engineering and Data Architecture

• Business Intelligence and Data Visualisation

• Data Transformation and Information Management

• AI/Data-focused Technology Consulting

Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience in a combination of relevant technologies, which may include:

AI & Generative AI

• Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)

• Machine Learning and predictive analytics

• AI-enabled applications and intelligent automation

• Python and relevant AI/data development frameworks

Data Engineering & Platforms

• ETL and data integration technologies such as Azure Data Factory, DataStage, Informatica or SAP Data Services

• Data processing technologies such as Spark, SparkSQL, Hadoop or Hive

• Databases including Azure SQL Database, Teradata, DB2, SQL Server or Oracle

• Data modelling, integration, transformation and data quality

Analytics & Business Intelligence

• SQL, Python, R or SAS

• Power BI, Tableau or QlikView

• Dashboard development, analytics and data visualisation

Consulting skills

In addition to technical capabilities, successful candidates should demonstrate:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Experience engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong communication, documentation and presentation skills.

• Experience contributing to end-to-end project delivery.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Prior consulting or client-facing experience.

• Experience delivering AI, data or analytics transformation programmes.

• Experience working within Financial Services, including banking, insurance, wealth management, capital markets, payments or FinTech.

• Exposure to cloud-based data and AI platforms.

• Experience taking AI/data use cases from requirements and design through development, testing and implementation.
