About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support delivery of a next-generation core system modernisation with downstream applications and systems across different business segments (e.g. Retail, SME, and Commercial).
This role is critical in bridging the gap between business needs and technical delivery by capturing and validating business requirements and ensuring data readiness, quality, and lineage throughout the transformation lifecycle.
You will work closely with stakeholders from business, IT, data, and vendor teams to define requirements, validate solutions, analyse data structures, and support migration, integration, and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define, analyse, and document business requirements (i.e. BRD)
- Develop process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new or enhanced system functionality
- Support requirements traceability across the SDLC, ensuring business value is delivered
- Assist in gap analysis between legacy and target systems during migration planning
- Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, and sprint ceremonies (if using Agile)
Data Analysis & Migration Support
- Analyse source and target system data models, data dictionaries, and mapping documents
- Collaborate with data migration team to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Assist in defining and validating data quality rules, reconciliation reports, and lineage tracking
- Help identify master and reference data sources, and support metadata documentation
Reporting & Insights
- Support business stakeholders in defining reporting and analytics requirements
- Perform data extraction and analysis to support insights, testing, and validation
- Ensure alignment of data requirements with regulatory and operational reporting obligations
Stakeholder Communication & Documentation
- Serve as the liaison between business, data, and technical teams
- Document business/data requirements, source-to-target mappings, test cases, and user guides
- Present findings, recommendations, and impact assessments to senior stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Education & Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Business Analyst or Data Analyst role in the financial services industry, with at least one end-to-end system transformation or modernisation project (e.g., core insurance, insurance policy admin systems)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, detail-oriented mindset
- Hands-on skills in data analysis using SQL, Excel, or data profiling tools
- Understanding of data governance, quality, and privacy principles
- Understanding of financial services core modules, such as:
- Insurance (e.g. Policy administration, Underwriting, Claims Management, Payments, Re-insurance)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical content for non-technical audiences
Professional Certification
- Data analysis certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or DAMA)
- Agile/Scrum certifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 Practitioner
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating multiple vendors, internal teams, and senior client leadership
- Excellent communication, strategic planning, and decision-making capabilities
- Problem-solving mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
