The Centralised Audit Delivery Team (“CADeT”) has been established within the EY Assurance practice in Malaysia to provide quality support to our client-serving audit teams.

 

CADeT will focus on enabling quality audit through centralizing and executing standard and recurring audit procedures by using innovative and digital audit tools to support the lead audit teams serving the Assurance engagements.

 

The opportunity

As part of EY Malaysia’s Assurance CADeT team, you will work on various audit engagements in different industry sectors in which EY is acknowledged as a market leader, specifically: financial services, energy and utilities, oil and gas, telecommunications, industrial products, automotive, retail and consumer products, real estate, etc.

 

As a CADeT Senior, you will play a key role in supporting audit quality by overseeing and reviewing work performed in lower-risk and less complex audit areas. You will work closely with engagement teams while leading and coaching CADeT Assistants to ensure that all deliverables are executed in accordance with EY Global Audit Methodology and Quality & Risk Management requirements.

Your key responsibilities

  • Deliver and review audit work of less complex entities through the execution of standardised audit procedures in lower-risk and less complex audit areas.
  • Create a positive learning culture, supervise, coach and develop junior team members and support them on their professional and personal development.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor work progress against timelines and proactively manage priorities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Analyse and communicate audit findings, observations, execution gaps and audit issues to relevant stakeholders, and escalate significant matters appropriately to managers, partners or engagement teams.
  • Lead discussions with client personnel on audit findings, information requests and outstanding matters for less complex entities or lower-risk audit areas, escalating significant issues where appropriate.
  • Contribute to a high-performance, disciplined and quality-driven team culture aligned to EY values.
  • Prepare and present engagement progress updates, results and analysis to EY Assurance teams and stakeholders, while fostering a positive team environment through collaboration, continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of audit, assurance or relevant audit support experience.
  • Basic understanding of audit methodology, audit procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Prior working experience in global professional services organization or mid-tier firms will be highly advantageous.
  • Prior exposure to reviewing work or coaching junior staff.
