Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Manager – Capex Controller to lead and manage capital expenditure processes within a manufacturing environment. The role involves end-to-end ownership of Capex governance, financial analysis, and close alignment with FP&A and Treasury to ensure accurate forecasting and effective cash flow planning.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end Capex planning, tracking, capitalization, and reporting
  • Monitor Capex spends vs budgets and provide detailed variance analysis and actionable insights
  • Partner with FP&A teams to ensure all Capex investments are accurately reflected in forecasts and financial plans
  • Collaborate with Treasury to align Capex outflows with cash flow planning and liquidity management
  • Work closely with stakeholders across Manufacturing, Operations, Procurement, and Finance to gather relevant data and validate assumptions
  • Ensure accurate asset creation, capitalization, and depreciation in SAP
  • Maintain strong governance over Capex processes ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
  • Analyse large datasets and translate them into meaningful insights for leadership decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and automation in Capex processes
  • Act as a key business partner, providing critical thinking and constructive challenge on investment decisions
  • Prepare meeting materials and lead bi-weekly CapEx Steering Committee meetings with top executive leadership to present the status of projects and projects pending approval.
  • Analyze capital expenditure request forms to ensure that all required data is included from operations and local finance team

 

Required Skills

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Proven experience in manufacturing sector
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SAP FICO
  • Experience working cross-functionally with FP&A and Treasury functions for forecasting and cash planning
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across functions
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy and controls
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (data analysis, complex formulas, dashboards, automation)
  • Ability to gather, analyse, and present data effectively to senior stakeholders

 

Preferred Attributes

  • Proven experience in manufacturing sector
  • Experience in Capex / Fixed Assets accounting in manufacturing setups
  • Exposure to complex, multi-entity/global environments
  • Strong orientation towards process improvement and transformation initiatives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Strong capabilities in Capex and fixed asset management
  • Experience in financial planning and forecasting
  • Knowledge of cash flow planning and treasury alignment
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
  • A data-driven approach with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and critical-thinking capabilities

  • 6–10 years of relevant experience, with significant exposure to Capex controlling, manufacturing finance, FP&A, and Treasury collaboration
