Information Security Transition Manager
Information Security prevents, detects, responds to, and mitigates potential cyber-risk threats, protecting EY and client data, and our information management systems. Thereby reducing overall risk to both EY’s infrastructure and data.
The opportunity
The Transition Manager is responsible for service transition activities related to the firm’s infrastructure and application solution projects. The main activities are to ensure the smooth ongoing operation and support of the solution, and the successful technical deployment to the user community. Transition management is responsible for assessing the transition scope and characteristics of each project, and from this construct and execute an appropriate transition plan.
Your key responsibilities
Responsible for planning and overseeing the transfer of key information necessary for the support, operation and acceptance of solutions deployed into production. This includes operational readiness, support documentation and acceptance checklists. Transition includes:
- Ensure service transition is planned and executed to schedule, budget and scope
- Build transition plans including infrastructure/application support models, change management, learning & communication deliverables
- Coordinate the Operations Readiness activities, taking into consideration IT deployment, data migration, capability deployment (training and engagement activities) and any business activities required to integrate new processes or jobs into the ’business as usual’ environment
- Be responsible for installation activities, providing effective team leadership, including information flow to and from operations during project work
- Co-ordinate routine installations and de-installations of items of hardware and/or software
- Monitor the effectiveness of installations and ensures that appropriate recommendations for change are made
- Assess, analyze, develop, document and implement changes based on requests for change
- Liaise with business and IT partners on release scheduling and communication of progress
- Work with project manager to establish end-to-end project plan and approach

- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the process competency principles and practices
- Ability to identify and escalate project risk
- Develop relationships across the IT organization
- Ability to support multiple projects in parallel
To qualify for the role you must have
- Experience of project managing or transitioning IT projects with accountability for delivering to time and cost for projects typically up to $500k in value and 6 months in duration
- Very good understanding of the customer strategy, services and business processes
- Ability to work and team effectively with IT Services groups and other management personnel including on a global, virtual basis
- Knowledge of service transition methodology, tools and templates
- Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises
- Management skills to manage more than one transition simultaneously
- IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in different project phases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Ability to act independently to deliver to schedule, budget and scope; support provided as required and requested, and is self-driven and motivated
- 5 to 10 years experience in a corporate IT environment
- PMP preferred or 3 to 5 years experience in transition management, project management, or related technical field (application development, deployment/implementation and infrastructure)
- Work experience in a professional services industry, preferred
- Have a process improvement mind set
- Experience coordinating support and troubleshooting activities
- Excellent communications and people skills.
