Senior Data Engineer (Application Management)

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the EY GDS Team.
As part of our EY GDS – TechOps team, you will be responsible for supporting, optimizing, and maintaining a modern end-to-end data architecture that spans Informatica CDI, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Databricks.
This role involves providing technical leadership and application management expertise to global clients, ensuring seamless operation of data platforms, timely resolution of incidents, and implementation of enhancements aligned with business needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a critical role in driving data reliability and value through best practices and innovation.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related) or equivalent work experience.

  • 3–7 years of experience working across modern data ecosystems, with hands-on proficiency in:
    • Informatica CDI for data ingestion and transformation
    • Azure Data Factory (ADF) for pipeline orchestration
    • Azure Data Lake (ADLS) for cloud storage and data lake architecture
    • Databricks for large-scale data processing (SQL, PySpark, and Delta Lake)
  • Experience providing application management support (incident resolution, enhancements, monitoring, and optimization).
  • Strong root cause analysis skills across data pipelines, storage layers, and reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder collaboration skills to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, performance tuning, and cloud-based data architecture best practices.
  • Experience in global delivery models and distributed teams.
  • Flexibility in managing work hours due to the volatile nature of Application Management work including ability to do shifts and being on call for critical business requirements.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience integrating data from a variety of sources including ERP, CRM, POS, and third-party APIs.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD pipelines in a data engineering context.
  • Experience in industries such as retail, finance, or consumer goods.
  • Certifications such as:
    • Informatica Certified Developer
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
    • Databricks Certified Data Engineer

What you will do:

  • Provide daily Application Management Support for the full data stack (Informatica CDI, ADF, ADLS, Databricks), addressing service requests, incidents, enhancements, and changes.
  • Lead and coordinate resolution of complex data integration and analytics issues through thorough root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to support and optimize data pipelines, models, and dashboards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation including architecture diagrams, troubleshooting guides, and test cases.
  • Remain flexible for shift-based work or on-call duties depending on client needs and critical business periods.

What we look for

  • Passionate, proactive problem solvers with a strong client orientation.
  • Professionals eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, global delivery environment.
  • A chance to work alongside a world-class, multidisciplinary team delivering data excellence to global businesses.
