Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.

Enablement Services provides cost-effective, high-skilled, and innovative services to support EY’s global and local enablement teams. Markets, BMC, AWS, Finance and Accounting, Risk Management, Procurement, People Shared Services, IT Service Delivery and IT Global Infrastructure services, are among the services offered by Enablement Services.
Our innovation specialists serve the GDS Client Service and Enablement Services teams, along with Service Lines, Core Business Services and Sectors. The team brings the desired environment, technologies and skilled teams together for facilitation, rapid prototyping and innovative thinking. The competencies offered include analytics, digital, user experience, mobile technology, infrastructure, Microsoft technologies and open innovation.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an SAP Tax Assistant Product and Process Manager with a foundational understanding of global Tax regulations, processes, and procedures as well as that being highly knowledgeable in the SAP/ERP products that support them.
In this role, you will support critical elements of the global operational stability of the SAP/ERP Tax application, processing, and upstream/downstream integration with other global and local technical products. This includes assisting with monitoring, maintenance and resolution of systems incidents and outages as well as the ongoing successful delivery/deployment of Tax related enhancements, configurations, and product releases. The ideal candidate is a proactive self starter with strong analytical skills who is looking to develop tax technology and product management expertise within a global environment.
This role will report to the Tax Product Manager within the Product Operations department.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Business Process Documentation – Assist in understanding and documenting business processes, workflows, and requirements to ensure ERP components align with organizational goals
- Functional Specifications Development – Support the preparation and maintenance of functional specifications for SAP and non-SAP Tax components, including user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria for new features and enhancements
- Compliance Monitoring - Support reviews of proposed solutions within the SAP product suite to ensure compliance with global and local legal, statutory, and regulatory tax requirements
- Stakeholder Liaison - Act as a supporting liaison between business/finance stakeholders and the technical team, facilitating effective communication and mutual understanding of requirements
- Product Lifecycle Management - Assist with tracking product updates and enhancement, supporting demand intake, requirements gathering, validation activities, and preparation of materials required securing business sign-off
- Tax Product Roadmap - Contribute inputs to Tax product roadmaps by consolidating feedback from member firms and preparing summaries; roadmap ownership and prioritisation decisions remain with senior product managers
- Testing and Validation - Drive requirements review, validation activities, test case reviews, and user acceptance testing for new features with tax implications
- Incident and Service Request Management – Assist in managing functional incidents and service requests by performing initial analysis, gathering information, documenting issues, and escalating appropriately. Track incidents through their lifecycle and support communication updates prepared by senior incident owners
- Financial Impact Assessment - Assist with data collection and preliminary analysis to support senior team members in assessing financial impacts of incidents or processing issues
- Error Analysis - Analyze batch failures and prepare draft summaries of findings for review by senior stakeholders
- Team Development and Performance Monitoring - Contribute to team knowledge sharing activities, documentation, and process improvements; proactively build tax systems and product knowledge
- Controls and Governance Support - Establish and maintain controls and feedback systems to monitor departmental operations
Skills and attributes for success
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of relevant experience in a large business system environment, performing business analysis, business development, and/or project systems management with a preferred focus on SAP tax module as well as third-party tax engine (Onesource preferred, or Vertex) integration with SAP, as well as SAP ECC FI (Tax, new GL, AP, AR, FA), SD, MM, VIM
- Working knowledge and experience with capabilities of Onesource Reporting as well as SAP ECC VAT Reporting
- Exposure to supporting Tax interfaces and Tax application operations for a global professional services organization (Big 4 experience an advantage but not required)
- SAP certification preferred
- History of working credibly with senior stakeholders
- Exceptional verbal and written skills including strong cross-cultural communication and the ability to draft effective communications
- Ability to work with people in a variety of cultures, countries, and time zones
