Job Title: Associate – QA / Manual Tester

Job Summary: As a QA & Testing Associate / Manual Tester, this role will act as the single point of contact for testing, quality assurance, defect management and related reporting activities. The role is responsible for planning and executing testing according to approved test plans, logging and tracking defects through closure, supporting quality processes within LSS, and contributing to defect prevention, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience in an eLearning organization or similar environment will be beneficial.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

The key function of this position is to manage manual testing and quality assurance activities across assigned projects, ensuring defects are identified, tracked, resolved and reported before delivery to the client.

  • Act as the single point of contact for testing, QA, defect tracking and related reporting activities.
  • Plan, schedule and execute testing activities according to approved test plans, timelines and quality expectations.
  • Review requirements, test scenarios and test cases to ensure adequate coverage and alignment with project objectives.
  • Perform manual functional, regression, smoke and user acceptance testing as required for assigned deliverables.
  • Log, record, prioritize and monitor defects, ensuring timely closure before delivery to the client.
  • Analyze defects, identify trends, perform root cause analysis and support preventive actions.
  • Drive defect prevention activities across projects and measure the effectiveness of quality interventions.
  • Work with organizational QA teams to develop, customize and implement QA processes within LSS.
  • Prepare and maintain testing status reports, defect dashboards, quality metrics and closure summaries.
  • Recommend and drive process improvements to enhance testing efficiency, quality outcomes and delivery readiness.
  • Coordinate with project teams, developers, business stakeholders and delivery teams to clarify issues and support timely resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to defined QA standards, documentation practices, reporting cadence and escalation protocols.

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of manual testing principles, QA lifecycle, test planning, test execution and defect management.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, identify test scenarios, document test cases and validate expected outcomes.
  • Experience with defect logging, tracking, prioritization, reporting and closure management.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to perform defect analysis, root cause analysis and prevention activities.
  • Ability to prepare clear QA reports, quality metrics, testing summaries and management updates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across teams and various levels of management.
  • Strong attention to detail, ownership, documentation discipline and commitment to quality delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate with organizational QA teams and customize processes for project or business needs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint for reporting and documentation.
  • Experience in the eLearning industry or a similar digital delivery environment will be beneficial.

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to QA process improvement, quality documentation, lessons learned and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Support onboarding and guidance of new team members on testing processes, defect logging standards and reporting practices.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility to support project timelines, release cycles and testing windows as required.
  • Willingness to work with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple testing priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality.

 

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, eLearning, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent relevant QA/testing experience may also be considered.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in quality assurance, manual testing, measurement, reporting, analysis, defect prevention and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrable experience in test planning, test execution, defect logging, defect tracking and closure management.
  • Experience working in an eLearning organization or similar digital learning/content delivery environment will be beneficial.

Certification Requirements: QA/testing certification such as ISTQB Foundation Level or equivalent will be an advantage, but is not mandatory.
