Role name and description

Finance role within the Reporting & Analytics (R&A) team to support the Global Pipeline Reporting Product lead managing Essentials for Opportunities reporting solution and its supplemental reports designed for Opportunity partners, pursuit leaders and pursuit teams – about 200k users globally Essentials for Opportunities is planned to be launched in the EY Reporting Hub in Q4 2023. Once deployed it will be regularly enhanced based on end-user feedback. Essentials for Opportunities provides a visual snapshot of the user’s sales funnel highlighting key areas that require attention or which recently changed. The target audience are Opportunity Partners, Pursuit Leaders, and all other pursuit roles available in EY’s CRM systems as well as their support teams.

The opportunity

The Reporting Analyst role is part of the Delivery Pillar within the R&A Team. The role holder works for the Pipeline Reporting Product lead that is part of the Markets Reporting Team within the R&A. The Markets Reporting team supports reporting solutions like Essentials for Accounts, Metrics, Market Segments as well as Markets and it provides Market Reporting data (like Global TER, Margin, Sales and Pipeline, etc.) to other teams and systems like Thoughtspot, Global Revenue Planning, Interim Markets Reporting and LENS. The Delivery Pillar within the R&A is positioned as an ambassador to enable the Global R&A Strategy driving the roadmap of the reporting and analysis products through various strategic R&A projects supporting the broad global customer base and increasing awareness, drive towards ease of use and integration of the various organizational responsibilities, reporting platforms, like Essentials, and future reporting and analytics solutions.

 

R&A’s pipeline reporting solution ‘Essentials for Opportunities’ (E4O) is targeted to be deployed in Q4 2023 and will therefore increase the overall R&A offering to provide operational reporting to Pursuit Teams which a gap in the current offering. E4O is targeted at opportunity partners, pursuit leaders and teams providing a holistic, visual, and easy-to-use reporting solution to manage day-to-day activities on the sales funnel. It is based on Microsoft Power BI and fully integrated into the EY Reporting Hub – R&A’s one-stop-shop for the entire reporting offering.

The role has interactions with Client Servers (pursuit teams), Markets and Business Development (BD) as well as Markets Finance supporting pursuit teams and the different teams within the R&A.

The role is key to promote and further enhance the pipeline reporting solution to best support pursuit teams with business insights. Having good quality in EY’s pipeline will help the business to plan the delivery of future projects and the required resources, take the right decisions and to focus on the important deals as well as concentrate on the NextWave initiatives like Alliances, Sustainability and Managed Services. This is a highly visible role and key to success will be the relationships the person helps to develop with stakeholders in Markets, BD, Markets Finance, and other R&A teams.

This role suits someone with experience in project management, data visualization, interest to work on solutions between functional business requirements and IT solutions and driving change. A basic understanding of finance and analytics concepts is required. The person should be able to think strategically and demonstrate a pragmatic and can-do mindset.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Support all activities around the Pipeline Reporting solution and work closely with the Product Lead
  • Help visualizing reporting solutions and wireframes
  • Provide input to the roadmap of Essentials for Opportunities and help managing the ideas place to collect ideas directly from the E4O customer base
  • Document requirements as input for the development team
  • Support and review the development process from a project management and functional perspective
  • Validate enhancements and remediated defects
  • Assist with developing training or support materials
  • Support change management initiatives to increase adoption and overall usage and build and moderate communities representing the different pursuit specific user groups
  • Work closely with Pursuit Teams, Markets, BD, Markets Finance and R&A teams on new solutions, issues and ensure a consistent set of reports that are built on the same guiding principles

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with project management
  • Good understanding of the key information needs and processes of our pursuit teams
  • Basic understanding of the key financial business rules and the key source systems (e.g. Mercury, ARD/MDM and Microsoft Dynamics)
  • The ideal candidate should be proficient in performing data analysis using SQL and Excel tools, have the capacity to communicate effectively, and possess the ability to influence IT teams in solving data-related issues.
  • Should have experience in or a desire to work with stakeholders to convert business requirements into developer-friendly specifications.
  • Ability to adapt and change positively in response to changing business priorities.
  • Detailed oriented, structural work approach as well as high-quality and consistency standards


To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Some experience in a reporting and analysis role within EY
  • Track record of providing excellent customer service, a quality improvement- and process-orientated professional approach
  • Creativity in solution design and flexibility how to best approach different user groups/profiles
  • Capability to effectively work in a virtual environment across multiple time zones
  • Skill to prioritize workload and deliver outputs within strict deadlines
  • Good change management skill set
  • Appreciation and respect of varying cultures – both corporate and geographical

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Prior knowledge of key Finance concepts for existing R&A reporting solutions is not required but would be an advantage for this role
  • Experience with CRM concepts and tools would be preferred
  • Ability to adapt to new environments in order to keep up with the changes to technology, tools and processes
  • Open minded on how to approach solutions, people and work styles
  • Ability for some international travel from time to time (<10%)
