Job purpose:
- The Technology Finance Allocation Analyst will support technology finance allocation processes and cost transparency initiatives within EY Technology. This role will assist in data gathering, transformation, reporting, and analysis to ensure accurate billing and financial planning for technology services delivered throughout the firm globally.
- This role focuses on supporting Technology Finance allocation team with its growing purpose. As the team under EY Technology is taking on more process allocations, more data must be managed for monthly billing and reporting. This role will be responsible for key activities, including coordinating with other team members to obtain, standardize, and load inventory and other information into data systems for cost allocation and reporting.
Your client responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting and validating consumption data from various technology infrastructure sources (e.g., servers, storage, backup, databases), both structured and unstructured
- Transform raw data into standardized formats for use in financial models and reporting tools
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of the Apptio Cost Transparency model, including regular updates, optimize data structures, and perform reconciliations
- Prepare and distribute recurring and ad-hoc financial reports for internal stakeholders, including finance, product teams, and business management
- Contribute to planning and forecasting activities by providing timely and accurate data inputs
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in data management and cost allocation, partnering with technology product managers as needed
- Provide analytical support for technology billing and allocation inquiries from Member Firms and Technology leadership
- Participate in global finance projects and initiatives for automation and efficiency (i.e. AI initiatives)
Technical skills requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- MBA desirable
- Expert level in Excel and skills in creating Power BI reports needed.
- Experience in ETL templates for JETs or journal entry creation a plus
- Familiarity with SAP, Business Objects, Hyperion SmartView, Essbase, and SQL queries is desirable
- Understanding of basic data architecture principles
- Experience in working in a globally deployed accounting organization
- At least 5+ years of experience in finance processes and policies
- Experience in managing a similar consolidation function – with a strong preference for previous experience in a technology environment
