Job Title: Senior Business Analyst – Markets Product Line
The opportunity
The Business Analyst (BA) is the connection point between the Product Line Lead as well as Report Advisors and the technical and Quality Assurance (QA) teams. The BA translates functional requirements into detailed technical specifications, supports the development cycle and drives functional validation until enhancements and resolved defects are ready to be moved into Production. Additionally, the BA provides end-user support, reviews regular data updates, conducts functional and data-related validations and sends out communications when necessary. The Markets product line is focused on business management roles as well as their appropriate Finance and Markets teams with responsibility on organizational entities, like Global, Area, Region, Market Segment, Service Line as well as FOP, Industry, Managed Service or Alliances responsibilities. Essentials for Markets and Market Segments are the primary reporting tools within this product line focusing on Global TER, Account Margin and Sales & Pipeline.
The main responsibility is to manage the continuous enhancement and defect management of the tools and reports as well as ensure smooth operations and good & timely customer support.
Senior Business Analyst also manages and counsels the BA team within the product line.
The Reporting and Data Analytics sub-function (R&DA) is a leading-edge organization providing powerful analytical solutions to evolve our ability to provide insights to the business. The R&DA ensures that EY is keeping pace with the many analytical and technological changes taking place in the business world, evolving our tools and the way we look at information, to best support the client serving as well as corporate responsibilities in a rapidly changing business world.
Your key responsibilities
- Turn solutions designs into requirements (user stories) including acceptance criteria ensuring quality, consistency, ease-of-use and alignment with overall design principles
- Facilitate between the technical and QA teams as well as the customer facing Report Advisor roles
- Constantly look for opportunities to enhance the reporting tools and optimize as well as stabilize the underlying process and quality checks
- Own day-to-day coordination with technical & QA teams based on agreed roadmap and plays the role of the scrum master in an agile development approach
- Validate enhancements as well as resolved defects from a functional and data accuracy point of view
- Manage the defect (SNOW) remediation and customer support process
- Work closely with QA team to define and manage validation criteria and activities and prioritize defects ensuring high quality of deliverables
- Run R&DA internal and external User Acceptance Test (UAT) activities
- Manage relevant supporting tools (e.g. Sub-Account Management tool, GTER Adjustments templates, Hierarchies etc.)
- Coordinate timelines, risks and roadblocks with the product line lead
- Support report advisors by providing functional input and support for design and training sessions
- Stay closely aligned with other product line teams and their solutions to ensure consistency and usability
- Counselor for other BAs in more junior ranks
Skills and attributes for success
- Very good project management skills and experience – agile/scrum project management would be beneficial
- Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to flex between functional and technical conversations
- Good understanding of EY’s end-to-end processes customers need to go through and that are critical in reporting (e.g. engagement and opportunity life cycles incl. pricing, budgeting, ETC, account planning, new business development) as well EY’s key management structures
- Detailed understanding of the EY’s financial business rules, KPIs and the key source systems (e.g. Mercury, Dynamics, MDM, GRP, Billing)
- Experience with user experience design and requirement documentation
- Familiarity with detailed data and root cause analysis as well as data validation
- Experience or interest in technical solutions and analysing data, preferable knowledge about SQL, Power BI, dimensional models and cubes
- Solution oriented and good problem solving skills
- Detail-oriented, analytical, structural work approach and mindset as well as high-quality and consistency standards
- Fluent English skills

Experience
To qualify for the role you must have
- 5 plus years of experience in a finance or technical department
- Have experience managing a smaller team and counseling team members
- Relevant business experience within EY would be beneficial
