The opportunity
The Senior Associate – Finance R&DA (Technical) will support the development, maintenance, and modernization of Finance reporting and data engineering solutions. The role requires strong technical expertise across SSIS, SQL Server, Power BI, and Azure data services (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks), with responsibility for business critical reporting processes, periodic rollovers, and cloud migration initiatives. The individual will work closely with global stakeholders and provide technical support and guidance within the team
Your key responsibilities
- Data Engineering & Integration:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance SSIS packages, including source changes, logic updates, and performance improvements.
- Execute, monitor, and troubleshoot ad hoc and scheduled SSIS jobs to ensure data accuracy and availability.
- Resolve Visual Studio and SSIS related issues, including deployment failures and environment specific errors.
- Reporting & Analytics (Power BI)
- Perform ongoing enhancements and maintenance of Power BI dashboards.
- Implement advanced Power BI capabilities such as:
- Data validation and reconciliation checks
- Automation features to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency
- Support Power BI dataset and dashboard rollovers aligned to financial reporting cycles.
- Periodic Rollover & Run the Business Activities
- Lead and support rollover activities for EW and other Finance datasets, including:
- SSIS package rollovers
- Power BI report and dataset rollovers
- SQL query updates aligned to new reporting periods
- Ensure continuity, data integrity, and timely delivery across rollover cycles.
- Lead and support rollover activities for EW and other Finance datasets, including:
- Azure & Cloud Enablement
- Support Azure migration initiatives, including migration of on premises SQL Server workloads to Azure SQL Database.
- Refactor and optimize SQL queries for Azure SQL compatibility, scalability, and performance.
- Redesign data access using Elastic Queries and cross database querying where applicable.
- Azure Data Factory & Advanced Pipelines
- Contribute to Azure Data Factory (ADF) development, including:
- Supporting production ADF pipelines
- Building pipelines for datasets such as engineering lists and charged hours
- Use Azure Databricks for data processing, transformations, and pipeline integration.
- Contribute to Azure Data Factory (ADF) development, including:
- Collaboration & Team Support
- Provide hands on support to team members across SSIS, ADF, Azure SQL, Databricks, and Power BI.
- Assist with pipeline troubleshooting, defect resolution, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with onshore stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong experience with SQL Server (T SQL, query optimization, performance tuning)
- Hands on expertise in SSIS (development, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting)
- Strong experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling
- Experience working with Azure suite (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks)
- Experience in on prem to Azure migration projects
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a reporting driven environment
- Proactive, ownership driven mindset
- Effective communication skills for technical and non technical stakeholders
- Team oriented approach with willingness to support and mentor peers
To qualify for the role, you must have
- More than 5 years of experience possessing advanced knowledge as a Data Engineer - Microsoft BI & Azure
- More than 3 years of working knowledge in Power BI Visualization tool.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a related field
