We are in search of an Assistant Manager for Risk Management, a pivotal role within our risk management department. This position is perfectly suited for professionals with a comprehensive understanding of risk management principles, including anti-money laundering, vendor due diligence, and compliance. A high level of proficiency in Excel is crucial for the proficient management and analysis of data.

 

The Assistant manager will be responsible for team management, overseeing productivity, ensuring quality of service, managing operational aspects of the process, reporting, performance management, and the development of team members.

 

In this leadership role, you will be expected to demonstrate a proactive approach, exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and lead your team effectively. Exceptional communication skills are imperative, as you will be liaising with a diverse group of stakeholders both within and outside the organization. Your key responsibilities

  •      Supervise and mentor a team of professionals, providing guidance, performance feedback, and support for career development.
  •      Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and a high level of morale.
  •      Identify opportunities for process improvements within the risk management framework and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  •      Manage and mentor a team of professionals, setting clear goals, providing guidance, and fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development.
  •      Develop and implement training programs to enhance team competencies in risk management and compliance.
  •      Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management and to address any concerns or issues that arise.
  •      Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships and ensure alignment of goals and expectations.
  •      Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring that all risk management activities are transparent and compliant.
  •      Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
  •     Analyse key performance indicators and use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.

Technical attributes:

  •      Manage and oversee the daily operations of the compliance team.
  •      Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
  •      Provide guidance and leadership to the compliance team on various compliance issues.
  •      Coordinate with on-shore teams to ensure that compliance strategies are integrated into operations.
  •      Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the compliance program, providing regular updates to senior management.
  •      Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures by evaluating and initiating investigative procedures.
  •      Establish and maintain a reporting system for compliance issues and incidents.
  •      Prepare for and manage regulatory audits and inspections.
  •      Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory changes that might affect the organization.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  •     Graduate/Master in any stream (preferred MBA-Finance, B. Com, BBA)
  •      A minimum of eight year of experience in operations/administrative, compliance, risk management, legal, or regulatory affairs is essential. Experience within the financial services industry or a professional services firm is highly preferred.
  •      Proven experience in managing a compliance team.
  •      Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with compliance management systems.
  •      Strong analytical abilities to interpret regulations and assess compliance risks.
  •      Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
  •      Ability to work independently with well-developed problem-solving skills and understanding of processes
  •      Strong technical understanding of and experience in the RM function preferred
  •      Credible experience working in a fast-moving, client-driven environment

 

Technologies and Tools

 

  •      Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization tools.
  •      Proficiency in Microsoft Word for document creation and report writing.
  •      Competence in Microsoft PowerPoint for creating presentations to communicate compliance findings and recommendations.
  •     Experience with compliance management systems and software that aid in monitoring, tracking, and reporting compliance-related activities.
