Senior Associate - Offshoring Invoice Executive (UK&I) – Finance – Permanent/FTC
UK&I is recognised as best-in-class in EMEIA for both KPIs that measure how the region works with GDS, demonstrating leading penetration and growth. This is an opportunity to join a new Centre of Excellence being established for GDS invoice review and accounting, working across all service lines and CBS functions (covering the UK, Republic of Ireland and UKFS). You will help control the significant sums paid to GDS (c.$100m paid by UK&I in FY20) by ensuring invoices accurately reflect the work performed (more than 3.4 million hours in FY20).
The opportunity
Global Delivery Services (GDS) has more than 40,000 people (and is growing fast), based in 26 centres across six countries: India, China, Poland, Argentina, the Philippines and the UK. GDS serves both client service and enablement. Increasing the use of GDS is critical to our global strategy (NextWave). Improving margin by increasing the volume and scope of work sent to GDS is a key priority across all service lines and CBS functions. UK&I leads the way in offshoring to GDS, with significant growth each year.
Your key responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the role will include;
- Provide financial oversight of UK&I interactions with GDS across all service lines (Assurance, Tax & Law, PAS, Consulting, Strategy and Transactions, EY Knowledge) and CBS functions (e.g., RMS, Markets), covering all GDS locations supporting the UK, Republic of Ireland and UKFS, including:
- Invoices, credit notes, work orders, management information, rebates, temporary parking codes, surcharges and charge-out rates.
- Detailed review and approval of $100m+ of GDS invoices, securing refunds for identified errors.
- Coverage of GDS client service centres across India, Argentina, Poland and the Philippines, plus any new locations that begin supporting UK&I.
- Partner with key stakeholders in GDS and onshore to understand the drivers of operational and financial issues; provide insights, propose solutions, secure buy-in, oversee implementation and monitor adoption to ensure improvements are embedded.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key onshore and offshore stakeholders.
- Promote the benefits of working with GDS, communicating its potential to drive margin improvement and business performance.
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong multitasking and time-management skills.
- Proactive, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Quick to learn complex issues and take action to address them.
- Culturally aware, with experience working with stakeholders across multiple countries.
- Comfortable operating with stakeholders at all levels across the firm.
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Strong understanding of EY (internal candidates only).
- Advanced Excel skills (including manipulating large datasets to generate insight).
- Excellent attention to detail and a focus on data integrity.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to summarise issues, distil key points and make clear recommendations.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
A professional qualification (e.g., audit), with the determination to persevere and deliver results.
Familiarity with Mercury.
