The opportunity - About the GDS Strategy Execution and Operations team & role

The GDS Industry Group Enablement team plays a pivotal role in supporting onshore industry group leaders and sector operations leadership across all industry groups, sectors, and geographies. The team is responsible for translating strategic priorities set by the Market Board into actionable initiatives. We help operationalize these strategies and drive execution to enhance performance and support the achievement of defined goals and targets.

 

By working closely with leadership, each Industry Group Enabler ensures alignment, consistency, and impact across global markets, making it a key enabler of success for the broader organization.

 

As a Industry Group Enabler (Rank 64) you will play a foundational yet embedded role in enabling segment strategy execution and market board operations. This position serves as a bridge between strategic leadership and operational support, requiring strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence through insight and disciplined execution.

 

You will be responsible for turning data into actionable insights, ensuring consistency and supporting leadership with timely and accurate diagnostics. The role involves preparing first-level performance reviews, coordinating strategic initiatives, and contributing to decision-making through analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

 

Your key responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Performance Reporting

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in executing strategic planning processes through technology-enabled data management, analysis, and coordination support.
  • Monitor key KPIs and prepare regular performance reports for Industry Groups/Sectors, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Review and analyse new business development (NBD) budget reports to identify exceptions, generate insights, and support corrective actions.
  • Support planning and forecasting cycles with data analysis, commentary, and stakeholder inputs.

 

Operational Execution & Research Support

  • Collect, organise, and maintain CRM (internal tools) data relevant to Industry Groups/Sectors, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate in the planning, execution, and monitoring of campaigns and ROI, ensuring alignment with sector goals.
  • Conduct targeted research for business development initiatives, including relationship mapping, financial tracking, and news monitoring.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Coordinate strategic initiatives and stakeholder communications by managing board meetings, internal correspondence, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure CRM and reporting data hygiene and consistency to enable reliable insight generation.
  • Build and maintain insight packs and performance dashboards for leadership reviews.
  • Support leadership community forums and engagement activities to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Support periodic reviews related to Industry Group operations to maintain governance and accountability.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Project Management – experience building and managing project plans
  • Presentation/Analysis – experience building PowerPoint presentations or discussion documents to explain a strategy, process, or relationship history; experience using excel to analyze data for generating insights on trends within dataset
  • Professional maturity to confidently interact with Industry Group stakeholders. Demonstrate a level of assertiveness, and authority while communicating with the Senior Stakeholders and the ability to articulate viewpoints in a succinct manner
  • Communication – Demonstrate effective communication at all levels of the organization. Understand the nuances, ability to listen effectively, have a global mindset to operate effectively across borders
  • Networking – demonstrate the ability to create networks within a company and use it to navigate across an organization to get information to answer questions that arise across the Industry Group

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A Master’s degree or bachelor's degree with relevant experience
  • 7+ years of Professional Services experience preferred but not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to work and influence cross-functionally and geographically and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and departments
  • Proven sound judgment and flexibility in balancing multiple project requirements, tight deadlines, and keeping people and projects moving on schedule, with high attention to detail
  • Understanding of business research/data analysis concepts across sectors and companies – strong experience in one or more sector/s would be preferred but not mandatory

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Exposure to tools like Tableau, PowerBi etc.
  • Credible experience working in a fast-moving, client-driven environment

 

Certification Requirements

  • Expected to remain current on relevant EY training and curriculum (e.g., Account Management Framework (AMF), Lead Badges, among others
