Job Description:
We're seeking a highly skilled Earnix Actuarial Analyst to join our team. As an Actuarial Analyst on the Earnix Pricing/Rating CoE, one needs to drive simulation use cases by closely working with the client, needs to support rate testing and premium validation for selected property and casualty insurance products offered by the client.
The purpose of the testing is to ensure that the insurance premiums quoted to existing and potential customers are accurate. The person in this role will leverage a blend of business and technical competency to carry out their daily tasks. Total 5 – 10 years of experience (including Earnix hands-on experience) in the Insurance Rating/Pricing industry, is desirable.
Job responsibilities (MUST):
- Guide development team with simulation scenarios/use cases.
- Guide Technical/Business Analyst to capture and firm up implementation requirements and technical specifications.
- Be the face of the Pricing CoE and act as the bridge between the client Actuarial team and EY’s Earnix implementation team.
- Updating rates/factors/formulas to align with IT production changes.
- Running, modifying and creating SQL queries in the cloud.
- Debugging rating errors for individual customer policies as part of root cause analysis.
- Learning the details of premium calculations and working towards becoming a rating expert.
- Updating existing, repetitive work efforts and projects with an eye towards efficiency.
- Spotting obvious errors and anomalies when retrieving and manipulating data.
- Understanding and using appropriate insurance and actuarial terminology in the context of analysis and explanations.
- Providing weekly progress updates to manager and the Market Pricing Project Manager.
- Attending department trainings and allocating time to learning about actuarial concepts.
- Pursuing exams on the CAS syllabus required.
- Excellent understanding of U.S. insurance industry (P&C – Commercial, Personal & Speciality).
- Run batches to up-skill/cross-skill EY internal actuarial team members and help expand Rating/Pricing CoE.
- Emphasize quality standards and follow best practices to meet customer expectations.
- Must have high level of attention to detail.
Additional skills/experience (Good to have):
- Experience in other pricing products, apart from Earnix. Example, Ratabase or Insbridge.
- Rich working experience as Actuarial Analyst with U.S. based clients on P&C domain.
- Understanding of Guidewire PolicyCenter – experience in integrating Earnix with GW PC is an added advantage.
