Finance – Business Analysis – Assistant Director
The Business Analysis sub-function of FP&A brings together people and teams focused on business leadership support, including cohesive strategic analytics and insights on management and performance reporting, enabling strategic decision making.
The opportunity
The Global Business Analyst serves as a strategic finance business partner to executive leadership, delivering critical financial insights that help drive strategic decision-making. You will manage the overall delivery of leadership reporting, analysis and insights of business performance. This includes preparing engaging presentations and commentaries, projecting future trends, conducting ad hoc financial modelling, and recommending courses of action. This role offers an incredible opportunity to make a global impact as a trusted business advisor with senior executive exposure.
As part of the Business Analysis sub-function of FP&A, you will foster collaboration and community among a diverse network of financial professionals throughout the Finance organization, providing reporting and analysis to leaders across EY.
Your key responsibilities
- Partner with Global Service Lines, Clients and Industries, Growth and Innovation, and Investments Finance leaders to drive a cohesive and efficient approach to strategic analytics, insights and executive presentations related to business performance, integrated planning and forecasting
- Model projections and analyze monthly performance, forward-looking indicators, offering recommendations for business actions, delivering insights that drive decision-making, and presenting key findings to the Finance leadership teams
- Understand demand factors such as pipeline, wins, and analyze and project their impact on the future performance.
- Provide scenario modeling and ad hoc analysis and present findings to Finance leadership
- Proactively identify analyses to enhance performance insights (e.g., pipeline coverage, profitability, staffing levels, investments, expense controls, and cash collections) and suggest course correcting actions.
- Analyze and present complex financial data in clear and engaging format. Develop impactful presentations and communications for executive audiences
- Build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, including executive leadership, FP&A sub-functions, Service Lines, and Regions.
- Champion the adoption of automation, AI, and advanced analytics to drive innovation in financial reporting and insights by partnering with Global Analytics, Data & Technology and Reporting & Data Analytics teams
- Act as counsellor and coach to other team members as required, supporting development and demonstration of Trusted Business Advisor competencies of the team

- A strong understanding of corporate financial management with concentration in financial planning and analysis is required

- Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders across various cultures and geographies

- Ability to distill complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.)
- Ability to work in a virtual global organization respecting international cultures
- Willingness to travel occasionally as needed
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor and/or professional certification in a business-related subject matter (i.e. Accounting, Finance)
- A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong spoken and written English
