Experienced Google Workspace Engineer

The opportunity

The role is part of a Global EY Microsoft 365 support team in a large, complex, and multinational environment.  We do however also manage and support a Google Workspace Platform and need additional engineering skills for this.

This role is for an experienced Google Workspace engineer, with high level knowledge on GWS Configuration and Platform management. The individual will be focused on providing engineering initiatives, especially on the areas involving scripting used for licensing, provisioning, reporting etc.

In addition awareness of any engineering requirements for Google Chat, Mail, Meet, Drive, Sheets/Docs etc. is paramount. The individual should have a strong understanding and awareness of various Google Workspace controls and features.

Your key responsibilities

• Primarily Google Workspace engineering work (mainly focused on identity lifecycle management, GWS license assignment, service delivery and management, incident/problem triage of managed services).
• Secondary engineering work related to the Microsoft 365 Platform.
• Working with Product manager\other Engineers and operations staff to test, implement and transition new services, or upgrades to existing core foundational services in this space
• Support for the various existing services such as end user Mailbox provisioning, identity integration, environment management
• Provide input and recommendations on areas of service improvement both from a technical point of view, but also from a process perspective.
• Responsible for certain technical and non-technical deliverables within assigned projects and areas of responsibility, including collaboration with solution architects, engineers, operational staff, project managers and core service owners.
• Reporting and KPI statistics gathering to complement service ownership
• Additional equivalent engineering skills and experience for the Microsoft 365 Platform and foundational products is key

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must

• Experience with GWS service\feature implementations and deployment across multiple sites and geos.
• Understand attribute management and its synchronization from different systems (Talent, Active Directory , Azure AD and various other GWS services
• Experience integrating internal infrastructures and processes with GWS cloud environments, including security and RBAC models.
• Good M365 engineering experience and knowledge.
• Strong knowledge and scripting skills in both GWS and M365 environments.
• Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
