Event Technology Delivery Manager
Job Summary:
The Event Technology Delivery Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of events executed on designated, enterprise-approved event technology platforms assigned to the Delivery function including overseeing build, configuration, testing, and live event execution. This role owns delivery quality, operational consistency, and scalability, ensuring events are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with established standards and compliance requirements.
Serving as the senior operational lead for the Event tech delivery team, this role manages team capacity, enforces SOPs and templates, and acts as the primary escalation point for complex builds and live event risks. The Manager collaborates with event stakeholders to confirm delivery scope, timelines, and operational requirements for platform supported events, and ensures execution follows approved standards, templates, and delivery controls. This role drives continuous improvement in delivery processes, quality, and operational performance.
This position is focused on delivery execution and operational excellence and does not provide cross platform advisory, enterprise technology strategy, or event technology selection.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Delivery Ownership & Operational Excellence
- Own the operational delivery for all assigned event platform builds from readiness through live execution.
- Ensure all event builds are delivered in accordance with established templates, SOPs, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Provide oversight and final quality assurance for all registration sites, mobile apps, onsite configurations, communications, and reports prior to stakeholder release.
- Serve as the senior escalation points for delivery issues, scope changes, complex requirements, and live event risks related to Cvent execution.
Team Leadership & Capacity Management
- Lead, coach, and develop Event Technology Specialists and Leads, ensuring consistent delivery performance and adherence to best practices.
- Allocate resources and manage delivery capacity across concurrent events and programs.
- Review workloads, identify resourcing risks, and proactively adjust coverage for critical milestones and live events.
- Forecast demand and adjust delivery coverage to meet peaks, major milestones, and live events.
- Monitor quality, rework drivers, and throughput; implement corrective actions where needed.
Stakeholder & Intake Management
- Partner with meeting and event stakeholders to confirm delivery scope, timelines, and requirements for supported events.
- Set clear expectations for what is in scope vs. out of scope for the Cvent delivery team.
- Ensure delivery requirements are translated into standardized build frameworks for consistent execution by the team.
- Support senior planners and event owners by guiding delivery feasibility and execution timelines (without assuming advisory or platform selection responsibilities).
Standards, Templates & Continuous Improvement
- Own and maintain delivery templates, job aids, SOPs, and trackers related to event delivery execution.
- Drive continuous improvement in registration workflows, communications, attendee management, and reporting processes.
- Identify recurring delivery issues and implement systemic improvements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Reporting, Compliance & Risk Management
- Oversee the setup and delivery of reporting requirements, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with event and regulatory needs.
- Ensure post event communications, surveys, and reporting are executed by standard processes.
- Monitor and mitigate delivery risks related to data accuracy, attendee experience, compliance (e.g., CPE), and live event execution.
Vendor & Platform Coordination (Delivery Focused)
- Act as the primary delivery side liaison with vendor for issue resolution, escalations, and platform troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with internal partners to ensure platform updates or changes are incorporated into delivery standards.
- Escalate vendor performance concerns through appropriate governance channels (without owning vendor strategy or selection).
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with event stakeholders, leadership, vendors, and cross‑functional partners.

- Knowledge of mobile app technologies and onsite event technology workflows.

- Ability to evaluate platform capabilities, limitations, and delivery feasibility (not hands‑on development).
- Delivery Management & Operational Excellence

- Ability to operate effectively under pressure and manage delivery risks during critical milestones and live events.
- Proven capability to oversee quality, consistency, and compliance across high‑volume event delivery portfolios.
- Experience setting clear in‑scope / out‑of‑scope boundaries and enforcing standards.
- Leadership & Ways of Working
