EY GDS – Data and Analytics (D&A) – Data Engineer (Azure) - Senior Consultant

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy data engineering solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other related tools.
• Implement and optimize ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data processing
• Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to gather requirements and align technical solutions with business goals
• Optimize data models and query performance for large-scale data processing in Azure
• Develop data pipelines and workflows integrating cloud and on-premises systems
• Ensure scalability, security, and performance of Azure-based data solutions
• Participate in data governance and quality assurance processes

Skills and Attributes for Success:

• 4-5 years of hands-on experience in Azure Data Engineering with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse Analytics
• Strong expertise in ETL development, data migration, and cloud-based data processing
• Proficiency in Python and experience with ETL tools.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, procedural SQL, and performance tuning
• Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and cloud-based analytics
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering solutions
• Ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex data processing issues
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on efficiency and scalability

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have:

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Primary skills: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure (with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics) on any major cloud platform.
• Secondary skills: Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one ETL tool.
• Prior experience in Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, or Manufacturing domains preferred
• Azure Data Engineer certification is preferred
• Experience with Agile methodologies is preferred.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Commitment to software development best practices.
• Proficient in debugging and optimizing enterprise-level applications.
• Capable of translating business challenges into robust technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in managing client relationships and understanding client needs.
