EY GDS – Data and Analytics (D&A) –Data Modeller Developer with Cloud Exposure- Senior
As part of our EY-GDS D&A (Data and Analytics) team, we help our clients solve complex business challenges with the help of data and technology. We dive deep into data to extract the greatest value and discover opportunities in key business and functions like Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing and Auto, Supply Chain, and Finance.
The opportunity
We’re looking for candidates with strong technology and data understanding in big data engineering space, having proven delivery capability. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm as well as a part of a growing Data and Analytics team.
Your key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Data Vault 2.0 data models (Hubs, Links, Satellites) aligned with enterprise data architecture principles.
- Develop and document conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business requirements.
- Implement data transformations and lineage using tools like dbt, Snowflake, or cloud-native orchestration frameworks.
- Support data testing, auditing, and change management processes across releases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design appropriate data models that align with business needs.
- Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories to ensure consistency and integrity of data models.
- Identify and resolve data model performance issues to optimize database performance and enhance overall system functionality.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, metadata, lineage, and mapping logic.
- Should have experience working on building/integrating data into a data warehouse.
- Champion Data Vault 2.0 methodology, automation, and standardization across the data engineering team.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 3-8 Years of hands-on Experience in data modelling with a focus on Data modelling tools.
- Proven experience in Data Vault 2.0 modelling (certification preferred).
- Strong understanding of dimensional and relational modelling principles.
- Proficiency in data modelling tools such as Erwin / Visio or Power Designer
- Experience in designing and implementing database structures
- Ability to create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or BigQuery)
- Knowledge of industry best practices for data modelling and database design
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse data requirements
- Experience with dbt (Data Build Tool) or similar ELT/ETL frameworks.
- Having cloud certification is an added advantage
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in agile delivery environments.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge in Insurance Domain is Mandatory (Speciality Insurance is a Plus)
