EY Business Consulting – Healthcare Consulting - Digital Health Transformation – Senior Consultant
Our objective is to support healthcare clients across the MENA region to improve patient outcomes, experience, quality and cost efficiency by shaping and delivering end-to-end digital health transformation programmes. This includes digital strategy and target-state architecture, health information systems and interoperability, data governance and platform enablement, advanced analytics and AI use cases, and sustainable capability building to embed digital adoption and long-term performance.
The client base spans across public and private healthcare sector which includes government entities, regulators and private healthcare providers.
The opportunity
We’re looking for Senior Consultant with expertise in Healthcare Sector - Digital Health Transformation to join the group of our Business Consulting Team to work with business clients and project teams to support on delivering client engagements on and building a strong pipeline by developing technical proposals collaborating with MENA stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant, you will be part of a team of professionals with extensive Healthcare consulting and industry experience. Typical role representation would include supporting on client engagements related to healthcare consulting. Drawing on your knowledge and functional acumen, you will also be involved in creating innovative insights for clients, suggesting methods and practices to optimise their processes, improving operations and creating new sources of value, and contribution to thought leadership. You are also expected to contribute in stakeholder meetings and build winning technical proposals in response to the Tender and/or Requests for Proposal (RFPs) from business clients.
An important part of your role will be to actively perform research, establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. This job responsibility will require you to travel and be on client site in MENA region particularly Middle East.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work on client engagements focused on healthcare digital transformation, target operating models, and operational optimization/re‑engineering
- Lead design and implementation of digital front door solutions: patient apps, portals, self‑scheduling, telehealth, triage bots and omni‑channel experience layers
- Conduct assessments of current ecosystem and maturity evaluations for digital health adoption and integration
- Develop implementation roadmaps aligned with client’s business needs and industry best practices
- Develop interoperability blueprints, FHIR‑based standards, and technical architectures for seamless data exchange across Healthcare Information System (HIS) including Electronic Medical/ Health Records (EMRs/EHRs), wearables, remote monitoring devices and clinical applications
- Support planning, design and rollout of Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), shared care records, and multi‑organizational data‑sharing frameworks
- Develop and implement data governance frameworks, including metadata management, data lineage, stewardship models, and health data quality standards
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to build scalable data platforms, clinical data lakes, real‑world evidence (RWE) pipelines and analytics layers
- Contribute to responsible AI enablement, including algorithm governance, ethical AI guidelines and validation frameworks
- Work with clinical and operational teams to design AI/ML use cases across resource optimization, early warning systems, patient flow, readmission prediction, risk stratification, and clinical decision support
- Leverage AI and digital tools to deliver advanced analytics and automation for processes
- Translate business requirements into system specifications, data models, dashboards and KPIs
- Use data‑driven insights, benchmarking and analytics to measure improvement, identify deviations, and support governance bodies for digital transformation
- Support virtual care enablement, remote patient monitoring programs, and digital therapeutic pathways
- Conduct patient journey mapping, service blueprinting and persona‑based design to improve engagement and adherence
- Contribute to digital health policies, operating models, service governance structures and technology adoption frameworks
- Understand client’s business objectives, healthcare challenges and opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with key stakeholders and lead, design and develop winning technical proposals for tenders and RFPs
- Liaise with internal teams and field‑of‑play teams to identify healthcare opportunities and support business development activities
- Build, maintain and strengthen working relationships with business stakeholders and clients
- Ensure consistency in delivering high‑quality work products that exceed client expectations and meet delivery timelines
- Continually enhance your technical and consulting skills within the healthcare ecosystem
- Develop and groom team members for succession planning, as needed
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong understanding of digital health architecture, system integrations, APIs, FHIR standards, regulatory requirements, and healthcare system design
- Ability to translate complex clinical and operational challenges into structured, practical, and implementable solutions
- Comfort working with data, including analytics tools, KPIs, dashboards, and benchmarking methods
- Experience in AI‑driven healthcare solutions or exposure to digital health, data analytics, or AI strategy
- Strong understanding of HIE models, interoperability frameworks, national digital health policies, and global health data standards
- Proven ability to research, structure, and write high‑quality technical proposal content, particularly in MS PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 3-8 years of work experience in various digital healthcare projects across clinical operations, quality, outcomes measurement and health systems
- MBA/higher degrees in healthcare management, computer science, health informatics, or related fields.
- Exposure to writing technical proposals in response to RFP / Tender
- Strong knowledge of healthcare operations and care‑delivery domains, including but not limited to clinical and operational operating model design, organizational restructuring for hospitals/health systems, service line feasibility studies, operational efficiency improvement, clinical process transformation, workflow re‑engineering, and performance optimization using healthcare analytics
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint etc
- Exposure to healthcare ERP/HIS and enterprise platforms, including systems such as SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa, or comparable tools used for hospital supply chain, clinical materials management, workforce planning, and financial/operational integration
- Willing to travel to the Middle East and work on Sunday to Thursday working week and support MENA timings (11AM – 8.30 PM), as preferred (supporting Middle East Clients)
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience in value‑based healthcare, digital health and hybrid care models
- Understanding of healthcare ERP, EMR/EHR systems, HIS/LIS/RIS, or research informatics platforms
- Project management skills
- Customer handling, Stakeholder management, Report writing, Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience in usage of analytical tools/ representations
- Insights into the latest trends in healthcare operations, including leading clinical and operational best practices, sustainable care delivery models, digital transformation of hospital workflows, and the use of AI to predict demand, optimize patient flow, reduce bottlenecks, and support real‑time clinical and operational decision‑making
