ES Finance Controlling Management Accounting (ESS, Firmwide Accounting)

The opportunity
The purpose of this role is to perform various Management accounting activities which includes review and approve the job performed by the team members, Journal Posting, Monthly Accruals, CBS Cost redistribution to Ops SLs (Recharges & Allocations) True-up Journal entries, restatements to keep the books clean, prepare standard / Adhoc reports and provide insights to leadership, results validations, cost analysis and budgets. Analysis to conclude root causes, variances and suggest corrections to management. The position will ideally have to handle more complex issues and special projects.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Review the work done by team members and take the ownership of financial activities
  • Continued focus on process improvement and bringing in efficiency into the process.
  • Quick in understanding the requirements from leaders and provide the necessary reports / solution to the query
  • Managing the General Ledger entries and reconciliation of financial statements
  • Knowledge of SAP tool
  • US Accounting knowledge with ability to analyze financial information and post various JEs (Accruals, Reclass, cost allocation, manual cost recharge etc), correct to the books, post Restatements (outside of books), efforts to keep/adjust the books to be on par with structural changes.
  • Good excel skills to develop complex restatement models and reports
  • Complete Knowledge of cost allocation process and basic understanding of the various drivers used in cost allocation process.
  • Basic Knowledge reporting and consolidation (Area, Region, Service line reporting)
  • Ensure proper review mechanism is in place for the respective teams
  • Develop new reports as well as enhance existing process with the help of automation
  • Mentor, guide, train team members and active participation in recruiting / interviews

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to take complete responsibility of the activities
  • Possess statistical or data driven and problem solving skills
  • Have sound understanding of accounting concepts, GL Process Knowledge
  • Possess good communication skill
  • Good MS Excel skill
  • Understand cost allocation and financial goals and basic process flow
  • Ability to understand numbers and arrive at inferences
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to teach the juniors

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 6-8 years in reporting and other accounting processes.
  • B.Com / BBM / MBA / M.Com (with finance and accounts as subjects)
  • Strong MS Excel skill
  • Knowledge of basic accounting concepts
  • Good communication skill

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Exposure to SAP, other accounting tools and any other visualization tools etc
