Position Title - CSI Analytics – Power Platform Developer
Job Purpose
CSI Analytics solves business problems and enables informed decision-making through innovation, collaboration, automation, and technical expertise for internal stakeholders and clients.
As a Power Platform Developer Associate, you will support the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of low-code business applications and automated workflows using Microsoft Power Platform. The role focuses on building user-friendly Power Apps, reliable Power Automate flows, and integrated solutions that improve operational efficiency, data quality, and user experience.
The role will work under the guidance of the CSI Analytics - Power Platform Lead and collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams. The candidate is expected to be self-driven, curious, detail-oriented, and willing to learn while solving problems independently where appropriate.
Key Role and Responsibilities
The Power Platform Developer Associate will contribute to scalable, secure, and maintainable Power Platform solutions that meet stakeholder expectations. Standard work includes but is not limited to:
Power Apps Development
- Design, build, test, and maintain Canvas Apps and basic Model-driven Apps aligned to approved requirements and design standards.
- Create intuitive screens, forms, controls, validations, and Power Fx formulas to deliver simple, effective user experiences.
- Connect applications to approved data sources such as Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL Server, Excel, and standard/custom connectors where applicable.
- Support application security by applying role-based access, environment-level security, and data access controls as guided by the lead/developer standards.
- Maintain basic technical documentation, app inventory details, release notes, and user guidance for solutions delivered.
Power Automate, Integration & Support
- Build and maintain Power Automate cloud flows for approvals, notifications, data updates, reminders, and business process automation.
- Implement error handling, retry logic, logging, and basic monitoring practices to improve reliability and supportability of flows.
- Assist with solution packaging, environment movement, and release support using managed/unmanaged solutions as appropriate.
- Perform unit testing, defect fixing, peer review support, and regression testing with business users before deployment.
- Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify assumptions, identify risks, and provide timely status updates.
- Follow EY, CSI Analytics, and Microsoft Power Platform standards for security, privacy, naming, documentation, and maintainability.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, business information systems, or a related discipline.
Experience
- A minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Power Platform development or a closely related application development/support role.
- Practical experience creating Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and data-driven business solutions.
- Experience working with Dataverse, SharePoint Lists, SQL Server, Excel, APIs, or other enterprise data sources is preferred.
- Exposure to Power Platform solution lifecycle concepts such as environments, connectors, solutions, deployment, and basic governance.
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear screens, workflows, validations, and supportable technical designs.
- Basic understanding of data models, tables, relationships, permissions, and integration patterns.
Technical Skills/Competencies
- Power Apps: Canvas Apps, basic Model-driven Apps, Power Fx, forms, galleries, controls, and responsive design basics.
- Power Automate: cloud flows, approvals, scheduled flows, trigger/action configuration, conditions, expressions, and error handling.
- Data sources: Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL Server, Excel, and standard Microsoft 365 connectors.
- Integration: understanding of connectors, simple APIs, authentication concepts, and data mapping.
- ALM and governance: environments, solutions, naming standards, documentation, deployment support, and basic access control.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, learn quickly, document work clearly, and deliver with attention to detail.
Good to have skills
Microsoft Copilot & AI
- Exposure to Microsoft Copilot Studio for creating and configuring custom copilots.
- Understanding of Generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, and responsible AI practices.
- Experience integrating Copilot solutions with Power Automate, Dataverse, Microsoft 365, and enterprise data sources.
- Familiarity with AI Builder capabilities such as document processing, prediction models, and text extraction.
- Understanding of AI governance, security, and data privacy considerations within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Data & Analytics
- Basic knowledge of Power BI report development and dashboard consumption.
- Understanding of SQL queries, relational databases, and data integration concepts.
- Familiarity with reporting and operational analytics requirements.
Development Practices
- Exposure to Git-based source control practices.
- Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps concepts.
- Experience preparing technical documentation, solution design documents, and support
Mandatory:
