The opportunity

The EY GDS Creative Services is an in-house agency that empowers EY teams to shape the future with confidence by delivering high-impact, high-quality, and on-brand creative solutions. The team is dedicated to crafting experiences that are not only creatively inspiring but also strategically precise and deeply human, engaging audiences across multiple media platforms.

As a Senior 3D Generalist, you play a pivotal role in creating 3D asset modelling, texturing, animation and lighting for Metaverse, Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR), and Omniverse projects. You collaborate closely with Art Directors/Project Managers/Lead Artists/cross functional teams to complete the assigned tasks within production deadlines while being largely self-directed. With a strong foundation in 3D skills, you are also adaptable, taking on additional responsibilities as a aftereffects motion graphics animator and video editor in multimedia video projects. Your commitment to maintaining creative skills and staying abreast of the latest tools and production techniques empowers you to deliver innovative and visually stunning solutions that resonate with users and elevate the overall project quality.

Your key responsibilities

• Work closely with Art Directors/Project Managers/Lead Artists to complete the assigned tasks within production deadlines while being largely self-directed.
• Your primary responsibility is to create high quality 3D Assets (Modelling, Texturing, Rigging, Animation and Lighting) for Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Metaverse and Omniverse projects.
• Your secondary responsibility is to produce motion graphics animation, and video editing based on the storyboards, using Adobe Aftereffects and Premiere Pro to craft engaging visual videos to tell a compelling story for campaigns, events, and social media content.
• Understand the creative brief and requirements, conduct necessary research, and develop high-quality 3D assets and animations aligned with EY standards to effectively visualize complex business concepts.
• You should be a proactive team player with strong work ethic, self-direction and ability to perform visual and analytical problem-solving.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand design briefs, share ideas, and provide updates on project progress.
• Provide unique, innovative, and effective design concepts that meet the specific needs of customers and enhance user experience.
• Meet and exceed defined expectations in terms of aesthetics, quality, turnaround time, and overall project efficiency.
• Adhere to EY brand standards and remain cognizant of visual and verbal guidelines throughout the design process.
• Mentor junior team members on best practices for applying creativity in a production environment, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
• Stay up to date with the latest design trends and advocate for their application within teams and to customers.
• Seamlessly manage multiple creative projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project objectives.
• Work with minimal supervision and guidance, demonstrating initiative and self-direction in project execution.

Skills and attributes for success

• Approaches projects with a focus on user experience, combining creativity, innovation, and analytical thinking.
• Excellent knowledge in low and high poly 3D Modelling, Texturing, Rigging, Animation and Lighting using Blender 3D and Adobe Substance Painter.
• Strong 3D visualization skills with the ability to translate 2D concepts and reference images into realistic visual outputs.
• Professional experience using normal maps, specular maps, baking texture and lightmaps, parallax mapping and knowledge in shader networks.
• Solid understanding of lighting techniques for realistic interior and exterior renders, including natural and artificial light setups.
• Excellent knowledge rendering techniques EEVEE and Cycles using blender.
• Proficient in creating high-end visual animations, footage-based videos, explainer videos, and animated content for various platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities, enabling effective idea conveyance and persuasion of stakeholders.
• Exceptional focus on detail, ensuring that all work meets the highest quality standards.
• Ability to interact effectively and positively in fast-paced environments, fostering collaboration with team members and clients.
• Understanding of current and future visual trends, integrating insights into creative processes.
• Strong aptitude for art direction, guiding projects with a clear artistic vision to achieve visually stunning outcomes.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor's degree/College diploma (preferably in visual communication, Design, Multimedia and 3D animation and/or related discipline).
• 5 to 9 years of relevant experience in 3D modelling, animation, and design.
• Excellent technical and creative skills in Blender 3D, Adobe Substance Painter, Adobe Aftereffects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
• Intermediate knowledge in game engines (Unity 3D or Unreal), Z-Brush, Autodesk Maya, 3Ds Max, Cinema 4D will be an added advantage.
• Ability to create, both high and low polygon models of Terrains, Interior, Exterior, Characters, Vehicles, Props, Environment, Blend shapes. etc. for AR/VR projects.
• Good understanding of shape, composition, physical motion, weight and balance.
• Strong capability in motion graphics animation.
• Strong visual design capability, with an eye for aesthetics and detail.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills to develop innovative design solutions.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Intermediate/basic knowledge in UI Design, Illustration.
• Team management experience.

Technologies and Tools

• Primary tools: Blender 3D, Adobe Substance Painter, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Aftereffects.
• Secondary tools: Autodesk Maya, 3Ds Max, Cinema 4D, Z-Brush, Unity 3D, Unreal engine.
