The opportunity

We are looking for Marketing Automation Assistant Director marketing team with performance marketing, data management, project support, tactical execution of campaigns end-to-end, process improvements, innovation and educating users on campaign best practices. This individual must have experience with working with marketing automation such as Marketo tools linked to other digital platforms and a strong interest in data management and analytics. In addition, the manager will have responsibility for optimising workload distribution across the team and management of risk in the digital marketing process. The individual must be flexible, motivated, desire to share knowledge, have high attention to detail and must have a proven record of accomplishment of both their own team and working effectively with other teams, and with senior leaders across the business to execute and report on campaigns.

 

This role will partner with the US Lead Marketing Automation Campaign Manager and greater automation team to deliver end-to-end lead-generation programs and integrated marketing campaigns. Working closely with US Lead Marketing Automation Campaign Manager, this individual will manage day to day activities such as program creation requests to ensure alignment and expeditious fulfilment by the team. In addition, the individual will assist in leveraging Marketo to develop modern, data-driven marketing strategies and execute high-impact programs across the US as well as assisting in evangelizing best practice adoption across marketing automation efforts.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of marketing automation campaigns, ensuring strong project and workflow management.
  • Manage end‑to‑end campaign processes across service lines, sectors, and regions, ensuring accurate builds and timely delivery.
  • Partner with the US Lead Marketing Automation Campaign Manager to establish and maintain processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure all campaign activities are executed on time and to quality standards using marketing automation tools (e.g., Marketo).
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with stakeholders throughout the campaign lifecycle.
  • Work closely with global, regional, and country marketing automation teams to drive alignment and consistent execution.
  • Leverage global capabilities and resources to support U.S. and Americas marketing initiatives.
  • Contribute to the evolution of marketing strategies, operating models, and continuous improvement across the region.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to GDS Marketing Automation resources within the GDS structure.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience in project management and/or campaign management within a marketing environment.
  • Exposure to or hands‑on experience with marketing automation platforms, preferably Marketo.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across regions.
  • Excellent written communication skills, especially for email content and presentation development.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience driving results across global, cross‑functional, and diverse teams.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A degree or diploma in Digital Marketing or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital/email marketing or campaign coordination.
  • Strong project‑coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and stakeholders.
  • A detail‑oriented, organized, self‑starter mindset, able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to review processes and recommend automation or efficiency improvements.
  • Solid technical skills, including hands‑on experience with email campaign deployments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to virtual teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and SharePoint.
  • Working knowledge of AEM is a plus.
  • Experience working within large, multinational organizations.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements for marketing automation platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data‑integrity and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CAN‑SPAM).
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms—Marketo preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and drive outcomes across global, cross‑functional teams.

  • B2B marketing experience and good understanding of how digital marketing and media help strengthen brand, build relationships, and drive revenue growth.
