Job Summary:

As a Tax Manager at EY, you will play a crucial role in providing tax advisory and compliance services to our clients. You will lead a team of tax professionals, manage client relationships, and ensure that our clients are compliant with local and international tax regulations. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex tax issues and optimize their tax positions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic tax advice to clients on various tax matters, including corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and international tax.
  • Analyse clients' business operations and structures to identify tax planning opportunities.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Review tax filings and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients on tax-related matters.
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and regulations and assess their impact on clients.
  • Conduct research and analysis on complex tax issues and prepare reports for clients.
  • Identify opportunities for new business and contribute to the growth of the tax practice.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives and presentations to potential clients.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax advisory or compliance, preferably in a professional services firm environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Rwandan tax laws and regulations, as well as international tax principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and team members.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience managing teams.
