The opportunity

We are seeking a Technical Architect with Core Banking platform experience who can design scalable, secure, and cloud-ready architectures for modern banking systems. This role is ideal for someone who can drive architecture decisions and lead complex transformation initiatives.

Your key responsibilities

• Defi Design end-to-end technical architecture for core banking solutions
• Lead core banking implementations, upgrades, or migrations
• Build cloud-native or hybrid architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security of banking platforms
• Work closely with development teams and provide hands-on guidance (coding/reviews)
• Define and enforce architecture best practices and standards

Define integration strategies across:

• Core banking
• Payment systems
• Digital channels

Skills and attributes for success

We are looking for someone who can break down complex problems, communicate technical concepts clearly, and approaches challenges with an analytical mindset.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• +4 years of experience in software engineering / architecture
• Strong hands-on experience with Core Banking platforms
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Strong understanding of Banking architecture patterns & Data architecture & security
• Experience in CI/CD, DevOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Proficiency in:

• Java / Microservices architecture
• REST APIs, event-driven architecture
• Integration frameworks (Kafka, MuleSoft, etc.)

Ideally, you’ll also have

• German language proficiency at B2 level or higher, both written and spoken
• Experience in core banking migration (monolith → microservices)
• Exposure to payments systems (SWIFT, SEPA, ISO 20022)
• Knowledge of observability tools & performance tuning
