M&A Senior Consultant - Energy Transactions & Operations

Location: Katowice / Wrocław - 2 days office / 3 days remote

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Operations team to support Transact-to-Transform engagements across the energy sector. In this role, you will primarily focus on defining the approach, shaping solutions, and guiding execution. You will help clients understand required changes across their operations landscape, business processes, and operating models, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

The opportunity

Our Operations team is one of the largest M&A advisory groups, focusing on transformation advice for private and public clients. Our deep sector knowledge and global network of local market experts enable us to add real value to our clients' projects.

Your key responsibilities

• Support end-to-end operations workstreams across strategic transformations and M&A transactions
• Support workstreams across due diligence, value creation, integration, separation, and restructuring projects within the energy sector
• Assess operational performance and identify risks and improvement opportunities across energy businesses and assets
• Analyze key operational and financial metrics, including production performance, operating costs, CAPEX, and asset utilization
• Support the development and review of business cases, financial models, and value creation initiatives to inform transaction and transformation decisions
• Coordinate transaction and transformation workstreams and manage relationships with client stakeholders, including senior management and C-level executives
• Develop high-quality client deliverables (presentations, assessments, business cases) with a strong storyline and executive focus
• Translate business needs into practical operational improvement, transformation, and value creation initiatives
• Leverage AI tools and innovative approaches to enhance analysis, delivery efficiency, and identification of improvement opportunities

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Demonstrated experience in energy-sector transactions, operational transformation, or value creation initiatives
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in financial modelling, advanced Excel, business case development, and financial analysis
• Experience within the energy sector, including oil & gas, power & utilities, energy infrastructure, or energy transition businesses
• Understanding of energy-sector’s key operational value drivers, including production performance, CAPEX/OPEX efficiency, asset utilization, ESG considerations, and operational KPIs
• Knowledge of UK and European energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and energy transition developments
• Experience leveraging AI, automation, and digital tools to support analysis and business problem-solving
• +6 years of professional experience in transaction advisory, operational consulting, operational due diligence, value creation, restructuring, or related areas
• Ability to travel and work across EU (up to 20% annually)
• Excellent written and verbal command of English and additional European language (French, Spanish, Italian, or German preferred)
• Occasional work outside normal business hours to work with international teams (e.g. United States)

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Preferred experience in M&A transactions (e.g. due diligence, integrations, separations, transformations)
• University degree in related field
• Experience in building strong working relationships with senior clients, including influence, advice and support to key decision makers
• Experience working in international environment
