Location: Katowice - 2 days office / 3 days remote

The opportunity
As a Java Manager, you will oversee various streams of Insurance platform implementation projects, guiding agile teams to achieve project and client goals while driving Business Insurance Transformations. We are looking for a passionate leader who can steer our projects onto a new track! You will leverage the most advanced technology stack and have the opportunity to implement innovative solutions while collaborating with top leaders in their industries. As part of our global team, you will manage international projects based on the latest data technologies and cloud platforms.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead and manage Java development teams to contribute to various streams of implementation in Insurance projects.
- Collaborate with agile team members to achieve project and client goals, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Analyze requirements and translate business needs into technical designs and implementation plans.
- Oversee coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of software applications, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to technical professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Engage with stakeholders to communicate project status, risks, and opportunities for enhancement.
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong knowledge of Java and its frameworks.
- Extensive experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS or Azure.
- Proficiency with Kafka or other message brokers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and an independent mindset.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Science, or other technical qualifications.
- 7+ years of experience in a corporate IT environment in similar leadership positions.
- Demonstrable experience in Java and frameworks commonly used in Java projects.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire teams.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Hands-on experience working with microservices architecture.
- Experience in the Insurance or Banking sector.
- Familiarity with Insurance core platforms.
- Relevant certifications in Java, Spring, SQL, AWS, or Azure Cloud.
- Experience in agile/scrum methodologies.
