The opportunity

 

CIS Insider Threat Detection (ITD) is a team within EY’s Information Security organization. The ITD team’s mission is to design, implement, and deliver technology solutions and services that protect EY’s and its clients’ sensitive information. The service focuses on identifying and mitigating risks associated with internal threat actors across EY’s global workforce of more than 400k+ users, with particular emphasis on detecting the unauthorized exfiltration of sensitive data to external destinations.

Insider Threat Detection Senior Analyst will be responsible for the end-to-end triage and analysis of data security alerts generated by SIEM and SOAR platforms, validating potential insider threat activity, and supporting incident investigations. The individual will continuously improve detection capabilities through use case development, detection tuning, trend analysis, and process optimization while working closely with engineering, risk, and data protection teams to strengthen EY's ability to identify and prevent unauthorized data exfiltration.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Triage of data exfiltration security alerts across various SIEM and SOAR platforms.

  • Identification of tuning recommendations to the currently defined detection rules.

  • Work with technical teams and vendors to address technical inquiries related to the security alerts.

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Strong understanding of Data Security domain throughout the Data Security Lifecycle.

  • Ability to independently research and identify tuning recommendations.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

 

At least 3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Technology support and Event Handling.
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Technology support and Event Handling.

 

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Kusto Query Language (KQL).

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Global approach for working with different cultures and backgrounds.

  • Ability to appropriately balance firm security needs with business impact and benefit.
