Location: Katowice - 2 days office / 3 days remote

The opportunity

 

As a Capital Markets Business Analyst, you will join our growing Financial Services Consulting practice, supporting leading investment banks, capital markets firms, exchanges, clearing houses, and financial market infrastructure providers across Europe and USA.
You will work on large-scale business and technology transformation programs, helping clients modernize their platforms, optimize operational processes, meet evolving regulatory requirements, and unlock value through data and innovation. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with global teams while gaining exposure to complex front-to-back capital markets environments.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions with business stakeholders, technology teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
  • Analyze and improve business processes across Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office functions.
  • Support large-scale transformation initiatives including platform modernization, system migrations, and regulatory change programs.
  • Collaborate closely with solution architects, developers, testers, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support data analysis, data mapping, and system integration activities.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, and release readiness activities.
  • Contribute to regulatory reporting and compliance initiatives.
  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and provide subject matter expertise in capital markets processes and operations.

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within Capital Markets.
  • Strong understanding of one or more capital markets domains, including Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives, Securities Services, Custody, Clearing, Settlement, or Trade Lifecycle Management.Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and supporting technology delivery initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Signavio, or similar.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is required
  • Communicative German language skills (minimum B2 level) are required, as the role involves collaboration with German-speaking stakeholders

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Experience with regulatory initiatives such as MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR, DORA, Basel III, FRTB, ESG Reporting, or T+1 Settlement.
  • Knowledge of capital markets platforms such as Murex, Calypso, Charles River, Bloomberg, Aladdin, or similar solutions.
  • Understanding of data management, reference data, market data, trade data, and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Experience working on cloud, data, AI, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to SQL, data analysis, and modern data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, or Databricks.
  • Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, CFA, FRM, or Agile certifications.
