Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting & IFRS Advisory, FAAS, Rapid Innovations

The opportunity

Our FAAS practice is among the fastest-growing areas of our business. As a result, we are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager to join our team and support large-scale engagements, including IFRS advisory, mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs, and capital markets transactions (both equity and debt), as well as providing accounting and finance support for IPO processes. The role will be based in our Rapid Innovations which is the Center of Excellence and will support the client engagements across the MENA region.



Your Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll work directly with a diverse range of clients across various industries to:

  • Support the execution of IFRS advisory engagements including technical accounting advisory on complex matters such as business combination and consolidation, IFRS conversion, accounting change services, development of accounting and finance policy and procedures manual, finance diagnostic or gap assessments, preparation of financial statements, carve-out and drafting of accounting memos or whitepapers.
  • Assist clients with IPO journey including readiness assessment, execution, and project management support for a successful listing on stock market.
  • Execute and deliver IPO remediation workstreams, including closing the readiness gaps and supporting clients across different finance areas such as financial reporting, policies and procedures development, improving reporting packs, and enhancing finance processes and controls relevant to listing requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong networks internally and externally;
  • Report directly to Managers, Senior Managers, or Directors during the planning, execution, and delivery stage of projects keeping close coordination with clients;
  • Ensure that work is of high quality, delivered in a timely fashion, and in compliance with EY policies.
  • Work with other EY locations, service lines, and specialists to deliver a fully integrated service offering.
  • Identify and communicate relevant trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the client.
  • Consult with appropriate resources on complex accounting & reporting issues, ensuring that FAAS work products meet client needs, are clear, accurate, and well-presented.
  • Ensure work is delivered timely and in compliance with EY quality and risk management requirements.
  • Deliver effective execution of the FAAS service delivery framework, including supporting major transactions with strategic insights and financial advisory expertise.
  • Support in business development activities by assisting with proposal drafting, pitch materials, and approach and methodology for service delivery.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance
  • CPA / CA / ACCA certification
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience with a consulting firm in an audit or accounting advisory domain. Big 4 firm experience is advantageous
  • Knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
  • Demonstrated experience in applying IFRS, preparing financial statements, and supporting development of finance and accounting policies and procedures (preferable)
  • Developing management skills — a team player, flexible, and keen to support and develop assigned team members
  • Strong written and verbal (English) communication and technical writing skills, including assisting with research on client inquiries and emerging IFRS issues
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel within the Middle East on short notice, as necessary
