The opportunity
We are expanding our Accounting and IFRS advisory practice in the MENA region and looking for talented professionals with a strong background in financial statement preparation, carve-out statements, accounting IFRS support on specific transactions and scenarios. The role will be based in our Rapid Innovations which is the Center of Excellence and will support the client engagements across the MENA region.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for effectively engaging with clients and executing engagements under the supervision of Senior Managers/Partners. You will be engaged in Client Engagements in the following areas:
- Provide accounting advisory services in line with applicable financial reporting standards (such as IFRS, IFRS for SMEs).
- Assist clients in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring they meet IFRS requirements
- Assist clients in applying IFRS to complex transactions and scenarios
- Assist clients in preparing financial information for submission to the senior management and regulators
- Assist clients in preparing carve-out financial statements and drafting technical accounting memos or whitepapers on complex accounting matters
- Overseeing IPO readiness engagements, including diagnostic assessments over financial reporting, governance, internal controls, and overall readiness for regulatory and investor scrutiny.
- Driving IPO remediation initiatives by implementing corrective actions across accounting policies, controls, finance processes, and reporting frameworks to achieve issuance readiness.
- Preparing management reports (including reporting templates)
- Manage projects and provide coaching to team members
You will plan, prepare, and review deliverables in various forms including technical accounting memo or whitepaper, excel data books, long-form reports, presentations, and discussions with the client.
Moreover, you will assist Partners and Directors with business development activities such as drafting scope of work and technical proposals for prospective clients along with driving innovation in service delivery; ensure delivery is in line with firm’s Quality and Risk management requirements/expectations. Monitor engagement economics against key financial metrics and manage the internal and external stakeholders.
Further, you will be responsible to assist Managers/Partners in developing/refreshing methodologies related to our existing/new solutions. You must contribute to various firm wide initiatives like learning and development (L&D) programs, campus recruitment, knowledge sharing, practice development and growth under guidance of Managers.
You also must take up project execution responsibility in a team or individually as per requirements and work plan, review work done by sub-ordinates (if any) and provide qualitative inputs before submission of deliverables to seniors/client due to sensitive information towards EY code of conduct, values, and quality standards.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance
- CPA / CA / ACCA certification
- Minimum 8+ years' experience with a consulting firm in an audit or accounting advisory domain. Big 4 firm experience is an added advantage
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS, including application to complex accounting matters
- Demonstrated experience in leading finance function diagnostic assessments, drafting technical accounting memos, finalizing financial statements including disclosures, and developing/finalizing finance and accounting policies and procedures (preferable)
- Strong management skills — leads teams, delegates appropriately, mentors, reviews performance, and counsel junior team members.
- Strong written and verbal (English) communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills, including conducting research on client inquiries, emerging IFRS issues, public company regulations, industry practices and new technologies
- Ability and willingness to travel within the Middle East as per project requirements
