The Opportunity:
We’re looking for Finance Accounts Associate with expertise to join our Core Business Services team where you will help support the important business enablement functions that keep our organization running strong. As a CBS professional, you will work across teams to provide the knowledge, resources and tools that help EY deliver exceptional quality service to our clients, win in the marketplace and support EY’s growth and profitability. Major teams within CBS include Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Enterprise Support Services, Brand Marketing and Communications, Business Development, Knowledge and Risk Management.
At EY, you’ll play an integral role in enabling our client account teams and leadership to run the business efficiently. You will help drive engagement profitability, manage risk, and support growth initiatives. From financial planning, reporting, and analysis to supporting operational processes such as cost control, tax compliance, working capital management among others. You’ll collaborate with other teams across the firm, applying your financial expertise to deliver insights that support informed decision-making. Your Key Responsibilities:
Financial and Management Reporting
- Prepare and share weekly financial performance reports with management.
- Review general ledger balances and support monthly balance sheet reconciliations process.
- Prepare monthly analytical Profit & Loss report with a focus on expense review and control Prepare monthly Taxi, Uber, and telephone utilization reports.
- Drive data accuracy and integrity across financial systems by coordinating periodic reviews, system reconciliations, and updates to reporting templates.
- Support annual financial close processes including financial statement preparation and external audit coordination.
- Contribute to annual budget development and monthly performance tracking for both local and global reporting.
- Support variance analysis and performance reviews by preparing monthly comparisons of actual results against budget and prior periods, highlighting key drivers of change.
Accounts Payables Management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records.
- Process and reconcile vendor and related-party transactions, both local and international.
- Prepare monthly payment plans aligned with credit terms and firm obligations.
- Ensure timely and compliant declaration and payment of monthly taxes (VAT, WHT, VAT on imported services).
- Lead related-party reconciliations and review firm tax ledgers to identify and mitigate potential risk.
Overall business Support
- Monitor weekly engagement metrics to identify anomalies and recommend actions.
- Support engagement managers in tracking their books of business — ensuring timely collections, clearing aged inventory, and processing time and expense transfers.
- Provide continuous, responsive, and high-quality financial support to engagement teams, including addressing finance-related queries, processing expense claims, and ensuring overall operational efficiency in client service delivery.
- Act as a key liaison between finance and client-serving teams, ensuring seamless communication, timely issue resolution, and proactive guidance on financial and operational matters.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to drive an efficient and compliant procurement process, maintaining alignment with the firm’s global standards and operational requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of client-related expenses to respective engagement codes and reporting on the same.
- Provide insights to improve operational efficiency and working capital management.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Other skills:
- Excellent skills in teaming
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Written and verbal communication in English
- The ability to multitask, work independently and under pressure.
- Good analytical skills.
- Attention to Detail.
- A good understanding of the EFRIS and Ms. Excel Systems.
Minimum experience / education:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting or any other finance related degree.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar or related role.
- Experience in a fast-paced finance environment will be an added advantage.
