Associate Director - Supply Chain & Operations – Manufacturing & Planning

The opportunity

As a member of our team - Supply Chain & Operations, you'll actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. With guidance from partners and directors you'll identify potential business opportunities for EY. By drawing on your knowledge and experience, you'll create innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership.

Your key responsibilities

You'll actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on Supply Chain & Operations projects and internal initiatives. In line with EY's commitment to quality, you'll consistently drive projects to completion and confirm that work is of high quality. Your role in leading teams - or parts of teams - on engagements will depend on the size of engagement. When working on engagements, you'll report to higher levels of management, who will expect you to anticipate and identify risks, and escalate any issues as appropriate. As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.

For this specific role, you’ll be able to demonstrate a deep level of Consulting and Industry experience related to (at least 2 of the below, ideally all 3):

• Manufacturing Excellence and Improvement (e.g. using Lean, TPM and Similar Approaches)
• Supply Chain Planning, Integrated Business Planning, Demand Planning, Supply Planning and overall Strategic Planning. You will be expected to
• Digital Grid Services - services helping utility organizations across their E2E digitization journey, including articulation and execution of their strategic direction, implementation of Smart Metering/AMI capabilities

You will also be expected to own the Manufacturing Transformation and Digital Grid solution for EY Africa.

Client responsibilities

• Participate in Supply Chain & Operations engagements.
• Help manage the financial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders.
• Participate in business development initiatives.
• Build strong internal relationships within EY Consulting Services and with other services across the organization

People responsibilities

• Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff.
• Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff.
• Contribute to people-related initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training Supply Chain & Operations professionals.
• Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills of staff.
• Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures

To qualify for the role, you must have

You'll have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

• Manufacturing Transformation – using elements such as Lean, TPM and related approaches
• Supply Chain Planning (IBP, Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Strategic Planning)
• Digital Grid Services - services helping utility organizations across their E2E digitization journey
